  1. Thank you both for the info. I will try this and let you know.
  2. Is it possible to choose a game in an emulator, like say Mario Kart, and then have the option to open a pdf file that might have the game manual, pictures etc? Something like the extra artwork that you can use with Mame.
  3. I want to be able to have different catagories for my video files like you can do with music. Seperate by type of movie (action, comedy, etc.) or year produced, actor etc. I know someone has to have already done something like this. Maybe some of you guys with lots of videos on your GameEx might tell me how you have yours set up. Thanks for your input.
  4. Merry Christmas to all. Tom, thanks again for a superb program. I hope everybody gets their Christmas wish granted.
  5. One question to all. Are you using the wireless Xbox 360 pad or the wired version? I find the wireless one much harder to use with GameEx ,Mame etc. It seems to go into sleep mode(battery saving) too often. Then I have trouble getting it to relink with the pc unless I exit back to windows desktop. I don't seem to have the same problem with Logitec wireless pads. The sad thing is some of the newer PC games use the Xbox 360 pad as a standard option and will not easily allow you to use a different pad. I think its a problem with the 360 Pads software design.
  6. Everybody has made some good points here. I still prefer the conversion process because I am able to cut everything out except for just the movie. No other languages, subtitles, extra clips, games etc. Most DVD's now days have some much extra stuff. After I have seen it, or done it once I never go back to it. So I just don't want to waste the space will stuff I will never use. Plus I hate having to wait through the FBI warnings or forced previews. I just love being able to click on the title and watch the movie. I back up all my movies after I convert them in case the HD does crash. But as always, with GameEx you have many options to do what you want. Great program Tom.
  7. I also think XVID is the way to go with movie conversion. I have lots of younger kids that visit the house to play with mine and they always want to tear through the DVD videos. I have found it better to have as many as I can fit on the HTPC and let them use that instead of the originals. I do cut out everything except the main movie with my conversions to save space. Plus most people only want to watch the movie anyways. If you set everything to 100% quality when converting, I can't see any noticable difference in quality. The only down side that I can see is the time needed to convert each movie. If you plan on having a large collection, this could take a considerable amount of time.
  8. Thanks Tom for another great release. It amazes me how much of your heart and soul you put into this program. Great Job!
  9. Hi guys. I did post about my New Vista Like theme on the main board, but it was suggested that I post it here to be considered for the competition. Sorry for the duplication.
  10. Well Happy birthday to you also Brian. That's cool that your birthday is on Halloween also Brian. You are now the third person I know of that has it on Halloween. One of the ladies at work was also lucky enough to have it today. He did get some good stuff today, but with it being Halloween (He was a Ninja this time) and all we are doing his party at House of Bounce tomorrow. The kids love it.
  11. This is just a quick screen shot on where I place my box art for videos. I convert all my movies to xvid to save space and make it easier for me to manage. I think the files need to be in jpeg format.
  12. It's also my son's birthday! Have a Safe and Happy Halloween!
  13. Thanks for all the nice comments guys. I have contacted Tom to ask for his help in trying to upload it. I tried late last night about 2am and it did not seem to go through. I will try again this afternoon. I hope its not related to my DSL connection.
  14. This is my first attempt at this so be gentle guys. It may not look like much but I have spent many hours trying to make something that I thought would be unique. The jury is still out on that though. I hope some one might be able to get some use out of it. If the upload went ok I suppose it will be up tomorrow for testing.
  15. I know this is possible for videos. I use this for my kids also. I don't use the DVD feature though, so not sure if it will work for that. Just going from memory here, I think if you place the image in the DVD or Video folder of GameEx with say for example "BOXART_Lion King" it will show that image when you hover over the text listing in the browser. I am not sure how this might work for compleate DVD images though. Hope this helps a little.
