I've been doing a bit of searching and it appears that this can't be done. Last post I read was this: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?sh...+favorite+lists Before I try what was stated in the post above, is there any other ways around this or heck is it even possible? I'm just looking for a way to create several different favorite lists for MAME. -Joe

Problem fixed. Apparently I downloaded a bogus torrent. After downloading a much more complete torrent, i noticed that the file contents between the various games were quite different. None the less I'm happy and now I can stop bugging everyone else here!

I admit: Joe = dumbass... I had previously (weeks ago) tried setting up this emulator and had the following: GamesIn7Zips=True So if we could.. take a look at the following: Command=scummvm.exe --fullscreen --joystick -p "d:\ScummVM\roms\[ROM]"[ROM] For some reason, it will "try" to load this (by try, I mean dark screen and appear to load the emulator) and about 3 seconds later, it brings me back into gameex. I've tried both [ROM]"[ROM] and [ROM]" [ROM] (space between the 2) with no luck and even minimized the command to just scummvm.exe -p "d:\ScummVM\roms\[ROM]"[ROM]. I wanted to see if maybe the emulator was even trying to open so I ran gameex windowed and it in fact isn't opening the .exe Current config: [Emulator_27] Enabled=True StartPageName=Scumm (ScummVM) TitleText=Scumm StartPageLogo=Scumm RomFilter= RomsInFolders=False ROMPath=D:\Emulators\ScummVM\Games SnapPath= TitlePath= BoxPath= CartPath= WorkingPath=D:\Emulators\ScummVM MapKeys=False WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=False ReplaceUnder=False Capitals=False RemoveBrackets=False ShowDesktop=False Debug=False MapFile= AlsoLaunch= Command=scummvm.exe -p "d:\ScummVM\roms\[ROM]"[ROM] DATABASE=[PC] ScummVM UseDbName=True OLDatZip= LaunchBefore= LaunchAfter= configFile=[Mapping Off] Exit ScummVM (ALT+X) ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground= PlayMusic= PCGame= GamesIn7Zips=False lastgame= *The only games I can successfully run is LOOM and Maniac Mansion. The rest run fine through the scumm exe, but they will not run through gameex..*

greatflash - Thanks for the reply, I usually don't have this much difficulty setting up an emulator thats why I HAVE to be missing something entirely too simple.. In anycase, yes, all games run perfectly from ScummVM just fine. No games are zipped and I followed the instructions perfectly. I guess what I'm concerned about is the fact that Gameex isn't listing any of the files within the "games" directory. In anycase, you gave me some great leads to go after so back to the arcade I go. I'll let you know if I find anything.

To be a bit more specific, I followed the instructions as Headkaze posted (and yes I made the correct changes). So why is gameex not seeing the files located within "Games". I haven't seen anyone else with this problem, so maybe I'm overlooking the obvious here, but I figured I would at least give the forums a shot. ScummVM for GameEx by Headkaze ============================== (Updated by Greatflash) Extract the files in this archive into your ScummVM application folder. Import the emulator settings into GameEX from the IMPORT-EXPORT folder and modify the paths to suit your setup. you need to change these paths.... The RomPath must point to the 'Games' folder that is now located in your ScummVM application directory. the 'command line' needs to be edited also, initially it show this:- scummvm.exe --fullscreen --joystick -p "c:\emulators\ScummVM\roms\[ROM]" [ROM] modify the 'c:\emulators\ScummVM\roms\' part of the line to point to the main directory where your roms 'really' reside (not the path that you have set in the 'RomPath' area). NOTE: your games must be unzipped and located individually in folders, name them the same as the ID's displayed at the bottom of this readme - this is important. Setting-up ScummVM ================== 1. If you have no games set-up in ScummVM Launch ScummVM and select 'add games'. locate the directory where your games are located, select a games directory and click ok. repeate for all games. 2. If you already have ScummVM set-up Check that your rom locations ALL use the correct directory names as indicated in the ID displayed in the list below. For example - 'Maniac Mansion' should be located in '<your rom path>/maniac' All should be ready to go. Check the games all run from ScummVM itself.

Ok guys, I've been trying to trouble shoot this for the past week and I've been un successful. I'm using the wrapper utility for ScummVM and when I load Gameex I'm seeing no roms present. Considering that I'm directing the roms directory to the folder within my "ScummVM" directory, what the heck am I doing wrong to make Gameex display "no roms"? Do I need to put a filter on my roms list? I seriously have no idea why I'm having such a hard time with this.

Haven't had much luck finding a good MSX / MSX2 png for gameex. Anyone like to share what they have?

Chris C., Joe C - Same thing So I turn on my arcade so I can take a video of what it was doing and of course, its working fine I just thought it was weird that nothing within my config had changed yet it was acting the way it was. Sorry for the waste of space guys. Tom - Keep up the great work!
-
Let me also add, I have functionality of the mouse portion of my tankstick, but... when I scroll to an item on my list (say emulated games) it automatically scrolls back up to the top... very weird...

Hmmm.. I haven't really had the time to do much troubleshooting yet, but from what I have found with the new install... 1) Arcade controls no longer work (verified the settings are still the same in config and have verified that the buttons do still work - notepad) 2) Intro movie cuts off after about 2 seconds That's what I've found so far, somewhat limited due to loss of arcade control. Am I the only one having these problems? I upgraded from 9.62 and nothing in my config has changed. HELP!!!

Same here. Took me a bit to initially find it though.

The funny this is that both of these were turned off originally.. Ironically enough, now that I turn both back off, it works... I just don't get it. I guess I will enable and disable several times before posting! Thanks again for the insight lingpanda

All, Attached is a log from this afternoon. Please if anyone sees anything odd, that might fix this, it would be greatly appreciated. Really trying to avoid installing gameex all over again. *note* I have tried enabling and disabling the direct input - no change log.txt
-
Good idea. I'll post it this afternoon once I get home from work.

That is what gets me, nothing in my configuration has changed, and I can't imagine what driver would be needed?? Again, I can go into wordpad and see the joystick outputs the appropriate keys.

Just looking for some suggestions here.. Arcade has been running great since I finished it months ago. Decided to finally do an update yesterday to the newest version of GameEx and mame. After I did the updates, everything ran fine, but when I turned it on today, Gameex wasn't responding to any of my buttons or the joystick on my tankstick. (with the exception of the trackball) Nothing that I know of has changed in my configuration; I still have have "Enable custom keyboard" enabled, and I've verified in both wordpad and mame that my tank stick is operational. Because I haven't seen any other posts relating to this being an issue with the new version, is there something I'm missing here? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks!

Chill Shaunopp. I never said the card wasn't "vital", its just something I don't have at the moment. True you don't get the full benefits of utilizing the lower resolutions; I was simply stating that the screen looks great without it.
-
Oh man, I feel dumb. Thanks for tip Tom!
-
Tom, Good point. I will have to check that out when I get home today, I'll let you know!

All, Haven't been able to figure out what I have done wrong here, especially since essentially use the same setup with every gameex install. Currently with my cab setup, I have ambiance music set to on. This works great when I start up gameex initially, but for some reason, and this is completely random, when I go into some submenus (ie start page -> Mame) the music will cut off (fade out) and then if I click on a particular game, the music will come back on. This is completely random and not always in this particular pattern, but its really annoying and I cannot figure out what may be causing this. I do have the most recent version of Game Ex (9.36) and have never had this problem with older versions. I've downloaded this version twice now and I get the same problems. As far as I know, I've use very similar settings on older versions, so my question to everyone else is, has anyone else had similar problems, or any recommendations on how to fix this?

Mark, I just finished putting my arcade together and I have the same monitor. I have a standard ATI video card (no arcade vga) and the screen looks great. 800x600 looks a bit blurry around the edges but my computer will never be running higher than 640X480 so everything looks beautiful. You did say flat screen correct? What bezel are you using? Be advised that although the flat bezel sold from Happ will fit the screen, its noticeably smaller in overall dimensions and will not cover the whole opening.

additional headaches... Ok, So I don't beleive I've found this post yet, but I'm having difficulty loading TG16-CD .cue files once they are zipped. A problem with Daemon tools I beleive. If this has already been discussed, can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Maybe I'm missing something, but wasn't there a feature where you could stipulate whether or not your roms were located within folders or not? I can't seem to find that feature anywhere now? Help anyone?
