getting an error msg, started a new post above, thanks for your help

I just started messing around with gameex yesterday, forgive my ignorance. Basically I opened Default - Custom V2 Default 800x600 theme and was trying to import my mamewah layout for Mame. As soon as I click on mame.lay for mamewah 1.62 this is the error msg I get.

I am getting error message when trying to import mamewah layout using themeeditor.exe (see attached). any suggestions?

Thanks for the replies. I downloaded and messed around with Gamex a little. So far overwhelming number of features and options. I do like the look and feel of mamewah. I am sure with a little tweaking I could have gamex to look and feel the way I want.

I understand that choosing the FE is very subjective. For those of you who switched from Mamewah, what was the reason? A feature you couldn't live without, support, documentation, etc. Thanks.
