INFO old POST but I've news. To solve the Problem I have changed to 16bit color - looks not very good on some Themes... I've found a new solution: I have a Geforce2 GTS and now I have installed the Nvidia PureVideo-Decoder from http://www.nvidia.com/object/dvd_decoder.html - (only a trial-version ) - and set the CODECs in GameEx to Nvidia and now all videos works fine in 32BIT color....

Try to set windows to 16bit coulor setting....

turn off all fdd-codecs in gameex and testing playaround with 32bit color setting in windows and in gameex... I've had some problems withs codecs - the problem was the 32bit setting + nvidia-drivers...

I'm using GeForce2GTS 64MB

OK - played around...with DISPLAY Settings --> Alpha Blend Videos + 16 bit color settings... Setting the "use 16bit color" to yes - DVD play work fine, but the Startup Video plays with very ugly colors. in combination with AlphaBlendVideo-setting (yes or no) i get totally confused - sometimes DVD-play work or not.... Any Idea ? Codec: Cyberlink (from Nimo) + all "use fdd.." setting to NO

i've the same Problem - e.g. Some Application only start if explorer runs as SHELL solved: regkey: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Shell set to: "explorer.exe c:\Program Files\GameEx\Launch.bat" --->note: between explorer.exe and Launch.bat is a blank (no , or ; ) In GameEx-config set the following: Tweak/Performance--> Launch on Startup: taskkill /F /IM explorer.exe Launch on Exit: explorer.exe Don't know how long your explorer.exe need to start up - try&error with the sleep.exe command in Launch.bat

Anyone solved this Problem ?!? "Play DVD" -> brings only the Sound of the DVD.... I've tested + removed + installed + in all possible combination --> XP-Codecs-Nimo-fdd...-std.WMP10-WMP9 ..... Always the same Problem ..... sound is good - screen is black... DVD with WMP or Cyberlink is working fine. I think it's not a Codec-Problem.....should it be a DirectX Problem ??
