  1. I tried that...Started it manually and even put it as a launch before command...Still gives that error message that it isn't running, even though it is running.
  2. When I tried this just now, it says A Steam client is not running...A Steam client must be running...
  3. I just started getting this error, too. Has anyone found a work-around? If this is something Steam updated on purpose, does this mean we won't be able to launch games directly any more?
  4. Ok, I've downloaded x360ce and placed it in the proper games folder and I see where to set the controls in Pinball FX2. My plunger is set to the enter key. I don't know where to go from here, though. Setting up x360ce looks daunting as there are so many settings and things to change but I only want this one function. How would I go about setting the plunger to work with x360ce to use the enter key since that's what Pinball FX2 is looking for?
  5. I'm familiar with Joy2Key and use it on my HyperSpin setup for my desktop config and also believe I could figure out x360ce, but since I didn't install the Steam/Pinball FX2 myself, I don't even know where the controller settings are to begin with. Can you (or someone) tell me where the controller setup is for FX2? Thanks, --J
  6. Thanks for everyone's input. It's much appreciated. After uninstalling Shark007 and updating to the latest PinballX and LAV software, the problem has seemingly disappeared. I left the cabinet in attract mode overnight and it hasn't locked up yet. I also went through all 433 tables and played them one by one with no lockups. So far so good.
  7. I have a custom made plunger (VPCabs) that uses the freescale board and looks like a normal game controller axis and have no clue how to set it up. I bought my cabinet from VPCabs and they license and install all the Pinball FX2 tables so I have no experience with setting up the controller at all. They didn't set up the plunger, only a launch ball button, and I've been doing some reading/research that says to use a program called x360ce but I am quickly getting overwhelmed because I don't know how to set it up or how to plug in the settings to Pinball FX2. Since I didn't set up FX2 I don't even know where the controller settings are or how they are accessed. I do know it's the Steam version, if that makes a difference. I could really use some guidance here. I don't mind doing further research and reading and will continue to do so, but I'm not finding anything on how to set up cabinet controls and a plunger for first time users. It's all advanced and assumes you know where the controller setup is and how to use it within FX2. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, --J
  8. Ok, will go uninstall it now. Thanks.
  9. Upgrading them allows me to hold down the flipper and scroll as long as I want now. I also have only had one crash in attract mode. After that one crash, I changed my attract mode table change setting from 15 seconds to 30 seconds and have left it on attract mode all night (6 hours or so) and haven't had another crash....yet.
  10. No problem. Thanks so much for chiming in. I have both Shark007 and LAV installed. I just upgraded both of them to the latest version. Should I only have one installed? If so, which one?
  11. Sorry, what please? I don't understand??
  12. USC is set to never notify if this makes a difference.
  13. Yes, I'm running exe's as administrator. I don't know what this means, protected file paths? I DO have both Shark007 and LAV codecs installed. Should I uninstall Shark007? Thanks, --J
  14. Well, I got the error again. It crashed while in attract mode. It's going to be a huge pain and very tedious to change directories for Visual Pinball. I'd love to have some other opinions and other things to try first if someone could chime in here. In attract mode, is it even accessing anything from the Visual Pinball directory?
  15. Since I've been waiting for a response, I have done more searching and a few people with crashes talked about their Spark2007/LAV files needing updating so I updated those to the latest version and installed the latest version of PinballX. So far, I haven't gotten another hang up and now I can rapidly scroll through the tables. I'm not ready to say this is resolved yet because I feel it needs more time, but this is definitely progress. If the error comes back, I'll reinstall everything in a directory like C:\Visual Pinball and see if that makes a difference. Thanks for your input. --J
  16. So you think that's what's causing the crashing?
  17. Sorry, I'm new. Please forgive me. I'll get it right from now on.
  18. One last log. 20. Hi, This is my first post here and I hope someone can help. PinballX is crashing after being in attract mode for a while. It also hangs when I press and hold down either flipper for a few seconds to scroll through titles quickly. This hang isn't random at all like the attract mode hang. If I hold down the flipper and let it scroll for 3 seconds or more, it will hang and I have to do a ctrl-alt-delete to start taskmgr to exit the program. Here's my log file 04:33:39.3 8/13/2017: PinballX - Version 2.16 04:33:39.4 8/13/2017: Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 64-bit (7.9GB) 04:33:39.4 8/13/2017: Loading Settings 04:33:39.4 8/13/2017: Initialize Component 04:33:39.4 8/13/2017: Initialize Display 04:33:40.5 8/13/2017: Loading PlugIns 04:33:40.7 8/13/2017: Created DirectX BackGlass Window 04:33:40.8 8/13/2017: Created DirectX DMD Window 04:33:40.9 8/13/2017: Hiding Cursor 04:33:40.9 8/13/2017: Hiding Taskbar 04:33:41.0 8/13/2017: CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz 04:33:41.0 8/13/2017: GPU 1: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 04:33:41.0 8/13/2017: Displays: 3 04:33:41.0 8/13/2017: Load Game List 04:33:41.0 8/13/2017: Loading Database: Pinball FX2 04:33:41.0 8/13/2017: Loading Database: Future Pinball 04:33:41.0 8/13/2017: Loading Database: Visual Pinball 04:33:41.0 8/13/2017: Loading Database: Physmod5 04:33:41.0 8/13/2017: Loading Database: Visual Pinball 10 04:33:41.0 8/13/2017: Loading Custom Database: Pinball FX2 Only 04:33:41.0 8/13/2017: Loading Custom Database: VP Only 04:33:41.0 8/13/2017: Finding and matching artwork and videos 04:33:43.7 8/13/2017: Loading Game Statistics and Scores 04:33:43.9 8/13/2017: Loading Surfaces 04:33:44.1 8/13/2017: Finished Loading Surfaces 04:33:44.2 8/13/2017: Initialize Audio 04:33:44.2 8/13/2017: Set Keyboard Controls 04:33:44.2 8/13/2017: Initialize Joystick 04:33:44.3 8/13/2017: 4 Joysticks Attached 04:33:44.3 8/13/2017: Started 04:39:13.8 8/13/2017: Created DirectX BackGlass Window 04:39:13.8 8/13/2017: Created DirectX DMD Window 04:40:40.0 8/13/2017: Created DirectX BackGlass Window 04:40:40.1 8/13/2017: Created DirectX DMD Window 04:41:24.0 8/13/2017: Created DirectX BackGlass Window 04:41:24.1 8/13/2017: Created DirectX DMD Window 04:43:17.0 8/13/2017: Error. Misc BAM issues

Hi, I'm a total newb and have been trying to get BAM to work. I've tried the default settings and then found this guide and copied these settings. It doesn't seem to make a difference. The tables load ok, but I only see just a part of the table, as if it is zoomed in to one part of the table by like 500% or something. When I press "Q" it crashes. Although I can't see what I'm doing, the other regular commands to insert coin, start, pull plunger, flippers, etc all seem to work fine. Tables work fine when not using BAM. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This is my first post! Thanks, --J
