  1. It is a USB Standalone and I don't have those files to submit. I'm sorry if I shouldn't have posted on this forum. Please forgive me.
  2. I did a Google search and saw a lot of people posting similar problems on this forum so I thought I'd give it a try since I'm a member due to using your software for my Pinball cabinet, but I must inform you I'm actually using RocketLauncher and HyperSpin as my front-end/backend and not Gameex. Oops. I was looking more for general advice or hoping it was something inside Mame. Let me know if I shouldn't have posted here since I don't use Gameex and if so, please forgive me. Thanks, --J
  3. Hi, I am trying to get my trackball working in Mame. It works fine in Windows 10 and even works to control the Mame menu when I press tab, but in game, it doesn't work. If I turn it a lot, several rolls, it will sometimes move something in game to the left a little, but that's about it. I have mouse=1 in the Mame.ini file. It allows me to set the x and y on adstick and trackball when I press tab for player 1 controls, so it is reading the trackball, but it just doesn't work in game. I've tried several games. I've searched and searched and the other folks with this problem got it resolved by doing one of the things I've already done above, so I don't know what my problem is. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have. --J
  4. I'm familiar with 5050 RGB strips, but I assume these strips are different. I bought my cab from VPCabs so I didn't build it myself....Venturing into OT talk here, but quickly, could you tell me what type of strips I'd use and where I'd plug them in? I don't even know if there is additional space on whatever board they used for more items, but I sure would like to have a back strip and side strips!
  5. I only have 5 lights and two strobes...I want this!!!
  6. I don't know about other people, but I spent many hours coming up with my workaround and when I did, it made me very happy. This is a hobby for me. All of it. That includes fixing problems. I'm still using my workaround and am not 100% positive I'll go back to the Steam version because with my workaround, if they break it again, I won't be affected in any way.
  7. Thank you!
  8. Ok, let us know. If you could outline the steps taken to get it as well, I'd appreciate it. I have to remember how it was set up in the first place so I can put it back! Thanks, --J
  9. I guess you're right. Well, that was a lot of work and a LOT of time spent for nothing lol. How do I go about getting the beta fix? Is it an automatic update? Thanks, --J
  10. There's no Warez or anything...It's a free program. It's just where I found it available for WIndows 7 is questionable which is why I didn't mention it. Would you prefer I just delete my post entirely? I honestly don't want to break any rules. If someone were to contact me via PM to ask me where I got it, would it be ok to answer? I honestly don't know the rules on that. I'm trying to be careful to comply and am just trying to help folks out. Please forgive me if I did infringe on any rules and I'll be even more careful in the future. Thanks, --J
  11. Hmmm... I didn't think about all that. I don't care personally about online score, cloud saves, or achievements. I guess as long as all my tables are working, there aren't any bugs to fix that I'm aware of, but maybe I should put it back to just be safe. What do you think? What would you do?
  12. That's good news. Can anyone give me a reason why I should go back to the Steam version? With the stand alone version with cabinet support I have right now, I won't ever have to worry about whether or not they implement any feature I don't want or break something again. I suppose the downside, the only one I can think of at the moment, is that I won't know when any new games are released but I can always just go look every now and again. Any other reason why I should switch back? Thanks, --J
  13. Yes, it's 1:49 A.M. here. I'm tired, too, but wasn't about to give up on this. I've been fooling with this almost non-stop since the error happened several days ago. I'm just glad it's over!
  14. You've got to be kidding me...I just logged on to tell everyone how I found a working workaround with cabinet support that does away with Steam altogether and now there is a fix! I wanted to be the hero lol. Missed it by "that" much! If anyone is interested, I finally found a version that doesn't require Steam, works on Windows 7 (all versions of Windows, actually), and has full cabinet support. You will still need a code to unlock cabinet support but if you still have your old one, it will work. I can't say publicly where I got the file, but if you purchased the software like I did (I purchased/licensed every single game legally and do NOT support pirating software of any kind) then PM me and I'll give you the link if that's allowed. If that's not allowed, just know there is a version out there that works so you don't have to fool with Steam any more. Even though there is a beta out now, I'm perfectly happy with my stand alone version and plan to keep it just as it is. Thanks, --J
  15. How do you compile an EXE? If the settings are set in ini's and the EXE is the same for everyone, could you go ahead and do that and attach it? I'd love to try it. Thanks!
  16. Can you upload your ini and log file as requested to maybe help Tom out? I intend to do so as well as soon as I get a mouse/keyboard hooked back up. Forgot to do it earlier. I sure hope someone can figure out some work around. I'm getting crashes now after trying to fool with the DMD but I really did have it working fine. Hopefully I can get back to that point at least and just not have a dedicated DMD window until someone figures something out.
  17. That's the other thing I was thinking....Does anyone have an older version? If so, we could install it and disable automatic updates if there is a way to do that, until or unless they get this fixed. Otherwise, I'll have to be careful about when it's connected to the internet.
  18. Unfortunately, that didn't work for me. I had that file in my Steam version so I just copied it over to the new installation and when I did that, it broke loading tables automatically. Now just the grid comes up. If I could find the legit install for Windows 7, I believe I could get this working, but I've searched and searched and cannot find the install package that will work for Windows 7 Stand Alone, without Steam. If anyone can provide a link, I'm happy to test more, set it up, and provide my progress reports here. For now, other than the DMD not being on the DMD monitor, it's at least loading tables, though...Once I delete the dmd cfg file, that is. Thanks, --J
  19. Ok, I found a temporary workaround. I'll explain the workaround then explain why it is only temporary for me. I downloaded Pinball FX 2 Stand Alone version, without having to use Steam. My cabinet is running Windows 7 and I could only find one "version" that worked without crashing. I don't believe this forum will allow me to say where I got it from, so that in itself should be a hint as to what I had to do. I pointed PinballX to the new directory I installed it in, which is C:\Pinball FX2 and for parameters I simply put "[tablefile]" and it loads perfectly. I ran the program from the installation directory first and went into settings to change it to rotate 270 degrees. This "version" already has cabinet mode unlocked, although I do have a code issued by Zen, I didn't have to enter it. Unfortunately, the cabinet mode features menu doesn't exist on this "version" so I am unable to get the DMD to display on my DMD monitor. That's why this is only temporary for me. If I could find a legit version to download that works on Windows 7, I would gladly use the provided code to unlock the cabinet features and set up my DMD properly. For now, it's launching tables directly as I wish through PinballX and working perfectly. If anyone knows of a legitimate download for the retail version (the program is FREE, only the tables cost money, I am NOT looking for free tables as I already purchased them legally) that will work Stand Alone in Windows 7, please point me to it. I searched and searched and couldn't find anything except for Windows 8 and WIndows 10. Hope this helps. Let me know what you think. --J
  20. Is there already a thread there? I didn't see one. If so, we need to create one.
  21. This problem is affecting many users. I know it's due to a Steam update and not the fault of anyone at PinballX but I hope you guys will still look into a work around or fix because I, for one, am not comfortable with AHK and have no experience with scripting and wouldn't know where to begin. I hope we can get a fix... I'll try to get my log file and .ini file off my cabinet (have to go hook up a keyboard and mouse) and provide it if it might help. Thanks, --J
  22. --applaunch 226980 [TABLEFILE]
  23. Thanks!
  24. I can press "R" to rotate it back, but when I restart it's wrong again...I need it to keep the setting. I don't know what I changed. Should I start a new thread? It's not keeping its setting for whatever reason.
  25. When I was switching windows to start steam I accidentally pressed a key, don't know which one, and now my playfield screen is upside down. Does anyone know how to get it right side up again? It's rotated the wrong way.
