I was just looking into this using the WinIpac util (not the newer WinIpac IPD). The newer app has it's own launcher to accomplish this but is a $12 upgrade if you have an ipac/jpac prior to 1/2004. The WinIpac will work on older and newer versions and supports downloading of code to the ipac but in order to make it an "On the fly" reprogramming that would revert to the default mame settings it would require a batch file to be created that would reload the default settings on exit. The easiest way to accomplish this seems to be for GameEx to become the launcher for the winipac software so it doesn't have to have a batch file. No, I don't have a problem with the way GameEx Sorts. The problem is that as the second laserdisk game I replaced Space Ace with Mach 3 as I only had 2 games at the time and even after saving several times, the entry kept going back to Space Ace. When I manually edited the config file to say Mach 3 it stayed.

Is it possible to change the order that items are shown on the main menu? With a couple of emulators configured, weather ends up somewhere in the middle of the list and I would like it at the end. I would also like to have the more popular emulators near the top of the list. Thanks! Toonces

Would it be possible to have an Automatic Update function that would download and update the install with the latest version of GameEx and the support files (catver, history,nplayers, etc)? Maybe something that could be launched from the config application. Thanks! Toonces

Does the ArcadeVGA support that is built in generate ini files for each game like your dedicated application or does it generate the resolution on the fly? I tried it once a couple of versions ago but it seemed to make the main screen shrink down to the default arcade setting if >256. I have a Namco Cyber Lead cabinet with a 29" horiz monitor and it displays correctly at 640X288. Maybe I am just not understanding the settings? I would much rather use a built in application than going through the extra steps of using AVGARes. Thanks! Toonces

Would it be possible to add automatic download of IPac/JPac codes based on the emulator being used? That way, instead of trying to wrangle Zinc and other emulators to conform to the mame keyboard layout I could program my JPac for the emulator and associate it with a particular emulator and when I launch a game that uses that emulator the controls would be correctly programmed. Then on exit it would revert back to the default set (mame or maybe even a custom set). I think mamewah does this by using the WinIpac program. Thanks! Toonces

I have 4 laserdisk games and when I try to configure them in the order I want via the configuration application, the names of the games and the paths to the rom kepps changing back to the default even though I save then go back in and verify the change. If I manually edit the config file the changes stay. I am using GameEx 3.36. Thanks! Toonces
