  1. For some odd reason, I am unable to get a list of MAME games to appear in Gameex using the latest MAMEUI32 (wrong title sorry), but I still can with other MAME versions... Is there a way I can use my preferred executable for it? Thanks
  2. I've seen people posting configurations on how to mount ISO's with Daemon Tools in order to play PSX titles, but I will be using a CD for mine instead due to limited HDD space on my cab. I don't suppose it's possible to put a menu item along the lines of "Launch PSX CD"? If so how would I do this? Haven't downloaded the application yet as I'm still prepping XP for it. Thanks!
  3. If I remember right, you would have it refer to the game list database for model 2. Like how most games do... That's how it used to work anyway I think. All the gamre information was (or still is) stored in databases.
  4. Nebula has been optimised for multi-core CPU's now I believe, so you'd probably benefit from that. I had it running without a GPU (using integrated Intel GMA 945) on a 1.8ghz dual core (not Core DUO) at full speed. The low end ones are only about $50 or so.

    Main Menu Icons

Still waiting for parts to come to rebuild my cab so it's been a while since I played around with the app but if I remember rightly, you just replace the image files in the theme folder with ones you want?
  6. Hehe, quoting myself here. Tried this same game using the latest ePSXe and latest of Pete's GPU plugins, as well as the 1.50 Eternal SPU. Ran absolutely flawless and looks incredibly sharp with all settings on maximum at 1680x1050. Very impressed!
  7. Well customization as in, without the PC inside, just the cab itself . Perhaps without a screen too since I have a nice 19" 4:3 one already. Basically what's the cheapest way to get this because for me that's a good 4-5 months wages away as it is now . Do you create custom marquee's? Panel art?
  8. My cab has a laptop in it, which is basically the same deal as an all-in-one desktop. The problem is, there comes a point where you feel it would be more use outside the cab. Also you need to account for the markup in price of it being "all in one". If you aren't comfortable with mounting the components inside the cab itself, I would recommend buying a "broken" laptop where the screen has been torn off or broken beyond repair. Then you have yourself a cheap little unit you can just plug into a larger monitor. A benefit to this is you can guarantee silent running, you get some good stuff compressed into a small area and it's easier to service because you can just take it out of the cab. Be sure to monitor the temperature though if you have poor ventilation.
  9. If I remember right, 1.13 had the most accurate emulation but didn't upscale the games or allow for much in the way of tweaking. Probably an ideal choice if you're playing on a low res monitor or a TV... I THINK! I remember having to use that to play Um Jammer Lammy because every version of ePSXe just refused to play it without dying.
  10. I'm still on 1.5 myself. Never got 1.6 to work properly as it kept freezing with video playback in some games . Hope that's fixed in this version, perfect timing as I'll be getting it for my new arcade system ^^.
  11. I'll be moving into a bigger place soon . Just wondering, how much would one of these beasts cost and what level of customisation is offered?

    Whats new?

Lots of new versions since I last checked too and it wasn't that long ago . Waiting until my new parts arrive for my arcade cab before I download the new one.
  13. Sounds like a problem with the emulator? When it returns to GameEx, it means the emulator application has ended usually.
  14. Wouldn't actual lightguns for PC be a better solution? Sure they cost more but they are actually shaped like guns.
  15. There aren't many bluetooth devices that will work with the Wiimote. The dongle we have at home will partner it, but won't do any more than that. Also, not sure if there are even any PC-based alternatives. Closest thing I could find was the Logitech MX Air mouse.

    Thinking of x64

If I understand right, for Windows it's only 16bit applications and 32bit drivers that don't work right?

    Need a favor...

I'd do it later after work if no-one else does, but Photoshop isn't one of the MoD's applications .
  18. In that case, I may just modify my EEE with a touchscreen and shell it for GameEx since it's only games and the occasional overnight downloads I use it for .
  19. Nada. It's glued tightly in now . I left the click there in case I thought up a use for it later. It's rather annoying to change stuff because it's been shelled to hide Windows so, I was wondering if anyone had any direct idea. If not, no problem I'll work it out in the mouse settings or something .
  20. Wait.... April Fools is over after 12pm... >_____>
  21. Touchscreen?
  22. ..... The system to crash upon using the middle mouse button? Well, basically I have Volumouse (control volume through mouse scroll-wheel) running in the background on my machine and a hacked up mouse with the scroll-wheel sticking out of the arcade machine so I can adjust the volume. However, whenever I press the mouse button in by accident, whatever is happening just stops showing on the monitor. You can still hear everything working but nothing will bring GameEx or the game it was running back onto the screen. It's all just black. Alt+Tab shows the running processes, but won't display any. GameEx needs to be terminated and then restarted in order to get back to normal. I was unable to replicate this problem on another machine :S
  23. It's because the MAME project is about emulating the machines as accurately as possible as opposed to cutting corners to gain speed increases. The newer games would work 100% speed for sure if they went the same route as most emulators. They use pure software rendering, no hardware because it wouldn't be accurate since a 90's arcade machine didn't contain a GeForce 8800 . Err, that may not be right, I don't understand it all but I'm fairly certain that accuracy lowers performance. The first Tekken and possibly Tekken 2 should run fine with a relatively modern MAME build on 1.8ghz+. It does stutter though, but it even does that on the most powerful of machines due to emulation inaccuracy. IMO the series isn't worth the time/money/effort to get working on a rig.
  24. I have an unbranded cheapo programmable LED marquee light lying around. Does this software support ONLY the listed types? And if so, where does one buy them?
  25. Oh snaps! I had the exact same problem last light when I set it to keep the desktop resolution when starting... I thought it was just something wrong on my end and since I don't really need the text to be there anyway, I just disabled it altogether. No problems there. I would say a work-around would be to disable the text and use a custom background with text as part of the image.
