  1. Arrrrg! I give up. After extensive research and googeling I've discovered that ATI has serious deficiency issues regarding OpenGL support and their drivers. Apparently this has been an on going issue with ATI. From what I've read ATI's OpenGL support for their line of video cards is software based where as nVidia is hardware based and far superior. I've tried copying and pasting the four OpenGL drivers installed to my system by the ATI Catalist installer to my system32 folder, SysWOW64 folder and the Future Pinball folder. I've also reciprocated the change of OpenGL driver in my registry. HK Local Machine/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT/OpenGL Drivers/ati2dvag I have four OpenGL drivers installed by ATI: atio6ax2.dll atio6axx.dll atioglx2.dll atioglxx.dll I've tried all four drivers and made certain I rebooted after each registry modification. Upon each trial of Future Pinball (outside of GamEX) I keep getting the original error pointing towards the atioglx2.dll, even if I've alter the registry to a different driver. I guess my only other option is to trash the ATI video card and switch to nVidia. Are there any recommendations?
  2. Any chance you could share?
  3. Thanks. Yes, I forgot to mention above that all system drivers are the latest including my ATI Catalyst Video Driver but like you suggest, perhaps an older version would work better. As far as running Future Pinball outside of GameEx, I haven't tried any of my Tables because they're all Zipped but the Demos that came with the Future Pinball install worked OK, just with no sound. I assumed that the Default Demos have no sound. I will unzip one of my Tables and try it outside of GameEx tonight after work. Update --> I unzipped one of my Tables and tried it outside of GameEx and I received the same error. I will try the ATI drivers next. MadMan
  4. Ok, I'll try to offer as much info as I possibly can. First I'll start by saying I have the latest version of Future Pinball installed (v1.8.20080323). My PC specs are as follows: Windows XP Pro X64 Motherboard: Asus Maximum CPU: Intel Q6600 2.4 Ghz Quad Core Memory: 4 Gb Video Card: ATI Radeon X1650 Pro - 512MB PCI Express All of my Pinball Tables are Torrent Zipped. Here is my GameEx Config: Start Page Name: Future Pinball Title Text: Future Pinball Logo: Fpinball Rom Filter: *.zip;*fpt Rom Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Future Pinball\Tables Snap/Video Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Future Pinball\Snap Title Snap Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Future Pinball\Titles Working Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Future Pinball Map Keys: Yes Replace Dashes: Yes Replace Underscores: Yes Capitalize Words: Yes Remove Text in Brackets: Yes Show Desktop: No Debug Mode: No Command Line: "Future Pinball.exe" /open "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" /play /exit Excluded Files: ;SegmentDisplayDemo.fpt;LightSequencerDemo.fpt;Ramp-VUK-Demo.fpt Zip/7-Zip/Goodmerge: Yes Every time I select a Pinball Table to play from within GameEx this is what happens, Future Pinball will start and the table will start to load however before the Table appears and with the loader status bar still present on the screen, the sound for the game will start and I will get a windows message saying that "Future Pinball has encountered and error and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I've tried with all three Future Pinball Video/Rendering settings, "Min, Medium, Max". All with the same error result. This is the error: AppName: future pinball.exe AppVer: 1.8.2008.323 ModName: atioglx2.dll ModVer: 6.14.10.7769 Offset: 004fbf42 Anyone have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  5. So do I then change the TXT files to INI files then import them in the section of the Advanced Config? Do these TXT config files in the wrappers & Config section of the forum need any editing before importing them as an INI file? OOOOOh, I see. The config files are like an instruction sheet for setting up the desired Emulator in the Advanced GameEx Config settings. I see now, I will play around with some of these configs tonight after work. Fun, Fun.
  6. ok, thanks, I'll experiment a bit and see what happens. Thanks bkenobi
  7. I'm wanting to set-up other emulators to work with my various existing Rom collections and have been looking thru the wrappers & configs section and I'm wondering what/how I'm supposed to utilize the txt config files left there by various users. Any help is greatly appreciated, don't worry, I won't be a nOOb forever. Your help will see to that. Thanks for any help.
  8. ok, thanks. I have a few sets I'll try. Is it possible to get snaps working with Daphne? If so, how?
  9. Apologies I wasn't aware that there were legalities involved with the afore mentioned source of Roms etc. I thought that site was totally legal else I wouldn't have mention it, won't happen again and thank you for your advice and responses to my threads. Yours and everyone else's help is greatly appreciate. Thank you Hey! Sweeet! I found that setting. Thanks so much! I love GameEx! I'm so glad I purchased it. I can't wait to try and set-up other types of Emu's. This Rocks!!!!!! Thanks Tom for inventing GameEx, you're a freakin' genius!!! Wahoooooo!! AAAAAArgh! I see what you mean. With sound for AVI snaps enabled my Quad core PC freezes. Oh well, sight is better than sound, although both would've been nice.
  10. Hi, thanks for the links but what exactly am I supposed to do with the Zinc bat files??
  11. You guys are awesome and were right on the money. I had a folder called Custom in my Mame directory and it contained three files called artwork.ini, custom.ini & some thing else. I have no idea where these custom folders & ini's came from but after I deleted them and rescanned my GameEx Mame Game list all the decimal numbers were gone from the list and I now have a nice clean looking list which is what I wanted. I also pointed my catver.ini etc, towards the ones in the GameEx/DAT folder. Every thing's working great. The reason I asked about the CHD diff files is because I acquired a few from somewhere I will not mention here since it's against the rules. Thanks for your answers. I have one other question regarding sound with my avisnaps. The snaps preview work OK when I'm browsing my Mame game list, only there's no sound. I have ffdshow installed. I get sound when I preview the snap in WinAmp. I'll search the forums further for an answer but if anyone might know the solution/info and are willing to share your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.
  12. Update > Ok, I downloaded a new catver.ini from http://www.mameworld.net/catlist/ and installed it to my Mame64 directory and also made sure my GameEx Config was pointed towards it. I updated my list twice and I still get the decimal numbers in my Mame game list. Anyone have any ideas?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. attached is my GameEx Log file & my GameEx.ini. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks log.txt GameEx.ini.txt
  13. Thanks for the reply however, where's the best place to find a replacement catver.ini? "Playstation" is ok by me but I'm just wondering how I can tell if it's Zinc running the game or if it's Mame. Also I don't use Mame32 as I'm running Windows XP Pro X64 so I use Mame64.
  14. Question: In my GameEx Mame game list I have displayed a list of numbered decimals such as .001 to .121. Why does it show this and is it normal behavior? How can I stop GameEx from displaying this long list of decimal numbers in my Mame game list for a cleaner, shorter list? Question: How can I differentiate between a regular Mame Rom and a CHD in my Mame game list? Is there a way of displying an option to show a list of just the CHD's? Question: What are CHD Diff files and what am I supposed to do with them? Zinc Questions: How can I setup Zinc from scratch using a wrapper? Should my game list show Zinc Games or are my Zinc Roms displayed under the listing of "Playstation"? How can I tell if Zinc is working in GameEx? There may be more questions to come but I really appreciate ANY help and responses. ThankYou.
  15. Bump... Please help with Zinc....

    Daphne Extras

Just wondering if anyone knows were I can find some Daphne extras such as images (etc) for my folders such as cabinet, cpanel, flyer's, icons, images, marquees, pics, snaps & titles. I'd like to fill up the folders in my Daphne emulator to enhance my GameEx experience and for fun. Thanks for your replies and assistance. Thanks Tempest & bkenobi for your help. I will check those places out. Thank you.
  17. Thanks I have both Daphne & Zinc working. Update --> I thought I had 'em both working but now I'm not so sure about Zinc. Could someone please point me towards some sort of instruction on how to correctly get Zinc to work in GameEx using a wrapper. I'm really lost and have been searching, googeling and reading old threads to the point that my head is numb and I'm still not sure what to do. Please heeeeelp!!! Thank you.
  18. Thanks for the response but you didn't really answer my question. I've setup GameEx before approximately a year or so ago. I remember that in the Zinc & Daphne setup you needed to point towards a Loader and not the actual EXE it's self. Is this still the case? Update > Yes, I do point towards the Loaders for my EXE in the setup.
  19. I'm setting up GameEx from scratch and was just wondering, do I still need to point my Zinc & Daphne EXE towards the Loader.EXE or in the newer version of GameEx do I simply point towards the Zinc.EXE & Daphne.EXE? Thanks
  20. Hi Tom, I have tried Windowed & Full screen & have had better results in Windowed mode. It really doesn't matter which three choices I make, whether I navigate up or down in the menu of the home screen, three is all get before the program freezes and stops responding. As for firewalls, I'm using the Windows firewall in Windows Vista Ultimate X64. I don't think it's a firewall issue as I'm always able to auto update GameEx. I'll check for any Video driver updates but I haven't had any difficulty with any other programs freezing like this, I've uninstalled GameEx and performed a registry clean. I'll try reinstalling GameEx with new Config and see what happens.
  21. I wasn't able to get that far, as I stated, three choices into the menu and it freezes. How ever, I just disabled the use of Daphne and all appeared to be working ok, I just updated the Mame game list and it finished ok, but as soon as it finished and displayed a list of games it froze again. Attached is an updated Log.txt file with a few minor changes in the GameEx Config. Update --> Nope, even after successfully updating the Mame Game List and having GameEx freeze upon completion, I stopped GameEx and closed it, I just restarted GameEx and I'm back to the same issue, three choices in to the menu and GameEx freezes and stops responding in Windows. log.txt
  22. I haven't run my registered version of GameEx for several months and have just recently done so, there-by auto updating to the latest version. For some reason over the past few months my PC drive letters had changed. I then went thru my GameEx Config and change all my drive letters accordingly. Now for some reason GameEx will start-up ok but I can only navigate three times in to the menu and GameEx freezes and stops responding in Windows Vista Ultimate 64-Bit. I'm not certain what to do or why it is doing this, oh yes, GameEx worked fine before I corrected the drive letters in the GameEx config, only it obviously wasn't displaying any Mame. One other thing I did is cut & paste my Mame CHD's over to my ROM folder, approx 64 Gb worth acquired from *****. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Attached is my GameEx Log.txt, if any further info is required just let me know and I'll do my best. Thanks everyone! log.txt
  23. I downloaded some Themes from Night's Theme Site and was playing around with trying some of them to see what they were like. After applying a Theme from my list I am now unable to run GameEx with out it crashing, is there some way of manually editing GameEx to load with one of the default themes that is installed with GameEx, not a third party Theme. Below is my GameEx Log showing the error. Any help is greatly appreciated. log.txt Thank You I love GameEx.
