  1. Game lanucher is another FE - Tom wrote the config tools for it, thats what let me to gameEX. Anyway, I just worked out the problem; and found a small bug. After much searching I found an old mame disk backup that had gameEX v 0.70 on it and installed that, using the same install of mame. Tried to run it and the error log popped up saying that "d:\ is an invalid mame directory". I thought "Hmmm, why's that invalid?" and moved everything to a 'mame' subdirectory. Then reconfig and it worked!!! I used d:\ as my mame dir cause I had it installed in the root dir of my secondary drive. So, it was a small bug in gameEX not allowing the root dir of a drive to be the mame directory. Thanks to everyone for the help and looking in on the thread. Hope it helps development and others in the furure!!!
  2. Thanks for the reply. Tried all your seggestions with no luck. No keys were indicated as being pressed by the ketcodes wrapper. I un-installed then re-installed in simple-game only lite mode to see if it would help, with the same result. Went into the install folder and deleted everything except the themes folder, re-installed and now it starts on the start page, but with only 4 options, and MAME isn't one of them. I have verifyed my setup, mame works fine under Game Launcher. I've attached my current ini file so you can se the changes. Sorry for all this - I am really stumped as to whats going on . . .
  3. Tried your suggestion, unfortunately didn't work. Still only shows 5 items (also thats the number listed, with no task bar at the top, or buttons). Is there anywhere I can get an older version to try? Also, I ran game EX under win98 before - but now I'm using win2kSP3 (MDAC is installed). Can't for the life of me work out whats going wrong . . .
  4. Hi all - I am a long time user of gameEX and have had little if any problems configuring or using gameEX. I have recentally upgraded my mame PC in my arcade cab and hence did a reinstall of everything. I tested the cab with another frontend and it works fine, and now I want to reinstall gameEX to get my cab back to where it was before the upgrade. After installing gameEX and configuring it, once I load it up the only things that show up on the start page is the exit, shut down, log off, etc options. Mame or any related options donot appear. I havent set it up as pure media center pc and have enabled games/ mame to be shown. I am a registered user and running v8.88, using mame 0119b_i686 I have attached my ini file if needed. If anyone can help with this major problem, i'll be eternally grateful. Thanks in advance. GameEx.txt
