Hey Brian i didnt try streetfighter 2 but i tryed bubble bobble which should work still no joy im only trying games i reakon will work 1942 etc sorry for the delay in returning posts im dumping roms and checking here when there finished this is such a pain in the nuts sorry for being rude but ive spent a fair amount of time and money getting the cab sorting the hardware sorting out roms to fall at the last keep the ideas coming i know you all have lives outside games (well maybe some of you) and i dont want to seem a pain but as cartman says "this is a pain in the balls"

The roms are fine when i install more and update its fine they update perfectly Its shows the controls page just before the game launches and somthing pops up from the bottom left corner as if the game is trying to load then i get black screen and back to gameex where am i going wrong if you have any ideas brian please send them coming as this thread is getting lots of views but not many responses (apart from yours which is seriously appriaciated)The roms are (legit) so i know there not at fault. and my registered version of gameex seems to work flawlessly Once again please Help

Thanks so much that really helped right thats sorted i added a load of roms and it's all good sorry for being a cabbage i should have checked that. the problem is now that none of them run i get black sreen as it tries to load and then straight back to gamex when i got the roms on dvd i just dumped the corresponding zip files into the folders ie marquees i just dumped the zipped folder into marquees on gameex etc should i extract the folder first maybe thats my problem please help as i can nearly smell the finish line thanks all

Nah no joy i know all the paths are correct the games try to run, black screen then just back to gameex cant seem to update the games list either without having to run the setup wizard or is that what you meant?

ok so this is the deal i bought an old cab from a arcade place where i live, i have all the components ie pc cpu 1.8 hd 80gb external 320gb 1gb ram 21 sun microsystems monitor external liteon dvdrw x arcade tank stick sony amp pioneer speakers all on xp sp 2 running gameex so everything works fine i got my roms through the post yesterday and started to put all the folders from the disk where they should be ie roms into roms folder etc so after the first disk was finished i thought id check to see if gameex found they were there and it did, however none of them work also i added another disk of roms and i cant find how to update the list again so it recognizes the second and third etc the roms are 1.19 should i delete mame32 from gamex and dump mame 1.19 there instead any help would be a bonus as i run out of ideas and dont want to start killing bits of my computer by deleting stuff i dont need to Thanks All

Thank you all so much for your assitence you all rock so much it hurts finally got it working after reinstalling xp ran straight away in fact. the problem may have been a drivers one as in gameex may have been caught out by old drivers that i didnt delete audio card video card wireless has all been added to improve performence then again im no expert but its all good now thanks again for your timely responses and lack of attitude

hey Brian i uninstalled and reinstalled gamex several times still no joy do you mean reinstall xp by the way i heard about gamex through byoac or wiki cant remember i have a fair idea about mame as i had 0.86 mame installed already on this pc that might be whats casing the glitch in the matrix im getting updated mame version just to see if that makes a difference ps thanks all for your continued support on this it will not beat me

Sorry dude i only heard about gameex yesterday and dont understand exactly what you mean i put gameex on my laptop with the same setting s as the desktop and it worked i want to cry now

thanks just repaired the framework to 2.0 but i dont think it makes any difference any other ideas would be greatfully apreciated

im not sure can i just go to xp s website and install a newer or updated version

hey brian no its a full fat version of xp (sp2) i think am thinking of reinstalling but really dont want to unless its absolutley nessesary

hey micheal thanks for the quick response already reinstalled with different paths for the rom files still gets to the same place with same error log then reinstalled with default paths same thing
