Hi The default ebook reader is a bit slow to respond on my system ...maybe i need an upgrade , but would ve to give this a try .How to i set this up to work in gameex I installed foxit and put the wrapper in the foxit folder , but how do i set this up as an app .is there a config for it? thanks.

The game in question was "alex higgins world pool" ,but had a late night last night trying lots of other games bringing back fond memories ,and had no problems loading them up

As far as im aware just copy your gameex folder X:\Program Files\GameEx to your new partition x:\Program Files (x being your drive letter) and download the gameex program again and install it .it should not overwrite any of your configs ,you may have to change the paths of you emulators , roms ..and so on .I havnt tried windows 7 yet but dont think it will much different to vista , correct me if im wrong...

I can get the pool game to work in winape when it loads up through gameex it autotypes run"poolcd.bin into winape then it goes back to the command prompt. but if you then type cat you will see a directory of whats on the disk image , it needs to type run"ahpool i picked that game at random ,but am sure theres lots more games that will have this type of problem ,its probably asking a lot or impossible to get the loader to do all this, but i am grateful for all your help.

Right , i added your loader Tempest but when i run the game in gameex it loads up winape ok but does not load the game for me ,also when i exited gameex to the desktop there was lots of instances of winape running about 10 , 1 for every game i tried. so i tried lawrences WinApe.exe "[Rompath]\[Romfile]" /A command and runs the games for me until i tried this one removed it tries to load it but then stops. .

what command line do you use for winape lawrence?

Im trying to set up spectrum and amstrad cpc ,for the spectrum someone recommended zxspin but i couldnt get it working with my xarcade controller , so if you know of any better emulators please let me know , and i tried to set this config up for the amstrad http://www.gameex.info/forums/lofiversion/....php/t2668.html , but it needs Nologic's winape wrapper but the link is dead for it.

Nice gonna try and set up a couple of emulators im having trouble with wheres theres no ready made configs, now this gives me a better idea of where im going wrong thanks Tempest

Just got it running in gameex using your command line , just need more help with settings for things like exiting the emulator out of gameex ,ive been playing around with zxspin a bit more now having trouble mapping keys to my xarcade some games work but others when i move the joystick it pauses the emulator and other strange things.

thx just trying it now works out of gameex nicely , im not too clever at setting up configs myself , any chance of posting your config if possible .

thanks a million for the update great search engine!! I also have a dual xarcade controller to get out of the search menu press the select button and the one next to it (the first two buttons on the top left) works for me

Here a Cab a friend and I made after being inspired after seeing the GameEx front end!! So many thanks to Tom Speirs and all the guys whose information and help about emulation these forums was so good I didnt need any help ....yet! Needs a bit of touching up and filling screw holes. I was going to fit a coin slot but to get it up and running was a bit complicated for me, So seen a 12" plasma disc that goes in time with the music !, it also looks better with the lights dimmed . Hope ye like it !!!.

Never really got around to thanking Tom and all the team here for this fantastic frontend . After seeing it , me and a pal were inspired to build an arcade cab around it , its at its final stages now so hopefully get it finished during the holidays and will post pictures of it in the new year,didnt need help in setting the emulators up with game ex yet!! (because of the wealth of knowledge that all you guys have already covered when I was searching through the forums . Amazing work . Have a very happy Christmas .
