Pinball Games & Arcade Game in PinballX independient
PcTeknic replied to PcTeknic's topic in User Projects
To manage our games, when we have a cabinet that we use for both Virtual Pinball and Arcade Games we have several options. 1- Integrate all games in single frontend like PinballX and put it to boot with Windows. This has its advantages because you save on disk space and configurations. It also has its drawbacks since you will not be able to have different intros for Pinball or Arcade games or with the translations (I field the blank rename). In this video we already saw how to integrate MAME along with the Pinball Games in the PinballX frontend. To manage it through shortcuts, in addition to preparing a desktop background to 1920 × 1920 so that centered post shows what we are interested in each monitor and explanation, we will have to create a profile of Joy2Key for Windows, where we will assign a button To "left click" (go to the desktop) and another to "enter". In this case in PinballX I have left only Visual and I copied the folder PinballX inside MAME, in that new folder you can make a new configuration to leave only MAME, the rest of Medias or databases are not necessary, although the databases folders should remain , Even if they are empty, otherwise PinballX will not boot. The same procedure you can do with the other games that you want to manage with PinballX, so you can have another configuration and video of Intro for Pinball FX2 for example. 3- Using the keyboard shortcuts. For this to work, in addition to preparing a desktop background that shows which button you have to press to run each game, you have to prepare the shortcuts with those keyboard shortcuts and the Joy2Key profile for Windows assigning those key combinations to each button . This makes it simpler because by pressing a single button you execute each game. ---------------------------------------------------- Esto hace que sea más sencillo ya que pulsando un solo botón ejecutas cada juego. -

Option 2 work fine. When I have it all ready I will put a video -
I would like to use PinballX as Visual frontend, FX2, MAME, etc, but separately and I do not know which would be the correct way. 1- Several installations in different folders, PinballX with the original configuration, VisualX only with Visual enabled, MAMEX only with MAME enabled, etc. 2- Copy the contents of PinballX into a new folder and make the new configuration without installing several times. 3- I do not know if you can create several settings.ini, like settings.ini with the original configuration, visual.ini, PinballFX2.ini, MAME.ini and create some shortcuts each with a command that indicates that you have to open PinballX But with the configuration of MAME.ini so that only MAME left to give an example.

To me it does not work, I have created the group and the databases but it does not show me the group in the menu. In databases \ groups I have put "Juegos Arcade.xml" with the following: <?xml version="1.0"?> <group name="Juegos Arcade"> <database>MAME\SubMenu\Todos los Juegos</database> <database>MAME\SubMenu\Acción</database> <database>MAME\SubMenu\Deportes</database> <database>MAME\SubMenu\Fight VS</database> <database>MAME\SubMenu\Plataformas</database> <database>MAME\SubMenu\Puzzle</database> <database>MAME\SubMenu\Shotter</database> </group> In databases / MAME I have created the SubMenu folder that contains each of those databases but it does not work, either because the default filters are activated or for whatever reason. --------------- By the way Andremi, I see in the video that you have not solved the logos of the manufacturers and you do not see the last logos (Williams, Zen ...) because you have more than 60 logos in the folder Media \ Company Logos. This usually happens when we get many arcade manufacturers. In order not to spend more than 60, in the database I have just put the name of the main manufacturers, Taito, Sega, SNK, Capcom, Gaelco, Irem, etc. Some of them already have the logo because they also manufacture Pinballs. The rest of the manufacturers, of which I only have 1, 2 or 3 games, in the database I have put as manufacturer "Arcade Classics" and you see a logo of "Arcade Classics" For me it is preferable not to go over 60 and to see Williams or Zen.

With the groups I had not tried, but now that I have seen it, I will create a group of MAME so that only 1 MAME is visible in the menu, but this time, it will be the group that shows. Then I will create the genres (All, Sports, Action, Puzzle ...) So these databases are only visible once you enter MAME.

I have it as Carny_Priest comments. My list of totals, only shows me the Visual Pinball, because I want to only show me the Visual, I have the following databases: Visual Pinball.xml (with all visual tables) MAME.xml (empty so it does not show any in the total) Arcades MAME.XML (database with MAME games that are only read when selected) PinballFX2.xml (empty so that it does not show any in the total) Tables PinballFX2.xml (with the FX2 tables, this database could also be called Pinball FX2.xml / PinballFX2 .xml / etc if you look left a space in the middle or after the name) --------------------- Yo lo tengo como te comenta Carny_Priest.

This is my personalization pack for PinballX. It includes: Images loading, output, no image, underlays and a video for the intro. If the administration of the web does not want to be published by wearing my logo, there is no problem on my part. ----------------------------- Este es mi pack de personalización para PinballX. PinballX Enhancements/Features Requests

I have seen that some B2S.EXE will not close properly from PinballX if you do not have the "Esc" key as "Exit". With B2S.DirectB2S there is no problem, but the .EXE are open until the "Esc" key is pressed. We use a keyboard interface for our buttons, we do not use the "Esc" key as "Exit" since Visual Pinball would display the menu. It would be a matter of adding to the routine that Pinball does to make the "Kill" Visual Pinball, add a "Esc" key to close the .EXE in those cases. -

This error was given to friend Akiles. After reviewing everything several times and trying several things, finally has found the cause of the problem. The audio table. PinballX waits for the audio table to finish and it had files longer than 1 minute. Removing the audio table will start without problems. This does not happen to me, but I leave this solution in case someone happens to the same or if Tom wants to review it.
