Hi all, brand new user here. Building a MAME cabinet with a Windows 7 desktop that will also run older consoles, did a lot of research and decided that GameEx would be my frontend. Paid for and set it up last night, got MAME working (which is all I'm concentrating on right now), but have a question about the Update function. From jdogg119's post on Dec. 20th, reply #14: To configure GameEx properly for MAME, load the Setup Wizard. Choose Custom> MAME Settings, and configure/enter all your paths (mame.exe, roms, screens etc). Boot GameEx. If done correctly, GameEx will ask "Update List"? Choose Yes and wait (it may take some time! In fact quite some time if you have a weak PC). When it is done, you will have a much better list, with info's, screens, and proper rom names! So I did that, but when I start GameEx I don't get the "Update List?" query. I went through that process a few times, including a complete removal/reinstall of GameEx, but have never been asked if I wanted to "update list." I found references to "running GameEx as Administrator", so I've done that a couple times (right-click, "Run as Administrator," click Yes on the "Do you want to let this program make changes to your machine" dialog), but still no offer to "update list." No problem, I thought, I'll just *manually* update, like I see mentioned a number of times in the forum. Only, I don't see an "Update" option. So I found this in the FAQ: To enter service mode do the following: Keep navigating back to until the buffer is cleared. Go to the start page. Then do these controls in order. BACK, PAGE UP, PAGE DOWN, LEFT, UP, VOLUME UP Assuming that "Volume Up" = Alt-UpArrow, I've done that a few times and nothing changes. So what am I missing? Somewhere within the GameEx program should there be an option to Update? It's not something in the Setup Wizard is it, because I don't see it there either. I didn't upload the .ini and .txt files because I didn't think they'd matter in this case, but let me know if I need to. Thanks in advance, Mike
