I updated Game EX (I had a really old version running on my cabinet) anyway I did it wrong so I had to redo my settings, no big deal, but the mp3 I use for my ambiance (a looping selection menu sort of music) won't play. THe mp3 is fine. the settings are pointing at it. but it won't play. If I load game ex up. it'll either display a 'please wait' box while it appears to load something, or it just won't play it. Everything else works perfectly, except for this Also; I don't know how long the 'please wait' thing actually takes to finish, if it in-fact ever does. I force-canceled it after an hour and a half, I figure if something takes that long to play a 3meg mp3 file something is up. does anyone have any thoughts? Nothing is actually erroring out,it just won't play the ambiance. It worked before and I mirrored the settings I had before. I figure it'll turn out somewhere I did something wrong. anyways if you need to see any settings or what not just let me know what you need to see. To whomever steps in to help, thank you.

I've never been able to download from that site. i always get 'you are not authorized to view this torrent

This happens both in MAME 32 and GAME EX When i attempt to audit or refresh the games list so i can choose from more games in mame 32 it gets through most of the roms then hangs until a cancel it. it doesn't get to the samples. In GAME EX it gets to 55% on 'verify.dat' or something of a similar name and hangs until I forcively end the process, the load graphic still says back and forth but the progress itself stops going up. So it seems the program is still active it just stops doing the assigned function. can anyone thing of why this might be? if I audit the newest games I get one by one in mame 32 it works fine. this only happens when i try to do it to the full batch.

I just recently got my arcade PC system going again, with the newest versions of mame 32 and game ex. I went through the settings in both and i can find nothing related to the hotrod, slikstik or any of that. I'm using the 2 player hotrod joystick which I believe is the SE, I've looked through all options menus in both programs i can't find it listed, I can use it to go through game ex menus but once I get into a game it won't respond because I can't set it as the default controller. Can anyone tell me whats up? Is there a config file I need or something? thanks, I'd appreciate it.

I don't mean the one where the Game EX logo zooms into the background, I mean the nag screen. they could change the nag screen to last for a customized amount of time and have their own image in it's place.

I'm having trouble finding any dependable documentation on MNG's I know what they are but when I try to make them in mame "LSHIFT + F12" it does nothing at all, and no video is created, I can also not find information on where these file need to be for game ex to recognize them in place of snaps, ect. can someone provide me some links so I can learn all I need to make MNG's (that crash fellow took his site down.) and where to place them so that they show up in game ex? thanks!

If I donate will the nag screen go away for all future versions of the software, excepting if it becomes a retail product? I transfered some money to my paypal account and I'm going to donate. just gotta wait a few days for the transfer to clear so I can avoid sending a super slow e-cheque. I'm assuming it stays away even after upgrading to a new version? Just wondering. Heck here's a feature suggestion. Someone donates, they get the nag screen gone but they also get the option of putting in their own splash screen with a timer that can be changed so it shows for 3 to 15 seconds? Great software, Tom, I've been using it for quite a while now. I love it, It's everything I've ever wanted in a front end. And the extras like dvd player, rss feeds, radio stations. great touches. I often have my cabinet playing a radio station when I'm not playing games on it.

Where are the resources to make mng files, and can they be played on game ex in place of snapshots? that would be awesome.

I'm trying to use my hotrod joystick with game ex but it won't work. at first I thought my mame.ini was interfering so I deleted it, I added the line -ctrlr_hotrodse to the mame commandline box inside the game ex configuration program. but whenever I try to run a game it doesn't open and bounces me back to game ex. but if I remove the command line it loads the game. However if I use pure mame, the command line works, so it is a valid command line. does anyone know what could be happening?
