  1. I have the Exit button hooked up to pullup the pause menu (Exit Game, Return to Game, Flyers, Info) but when I select Return to Game (and press Start button) it goes back to the menu. Is that a config issue? on pinballx or perhaps vp?
  2. Thanks .. I too used the original script with some small tweaks to go thru all my vp tables. For me it was a simple case of dir *.vpt > files.bat, then editing the files.bat to contain entries like: myscript.ahk sometable.vpt myscript.ahk othertable.vpt etc etc With this I can refresh periodically to capture new tables and new high scores and such in the dmd and backglasses ..
  3. Just guessing here ... but wonder about 2 things.. 1) This pathing seems curious. Can you simplify your pinballx install to just the one system? and remove the Mame thing here.. WorkingPath=C:\- EMULATORS -\- MAME - Perhaps it cant handle filenames this long??lastselected=Attack from Mars (Bally 1995)AFM_vp914_v2.4FSVisualPinball
  4. Does the gamelist manager "import" audio function grab these files or is that for some other audio?
  5. Wouldnt it be better to capture the audio as part of the playfield grab so they are in-sync? And for any newer machines, if it exists, capture the attract mode pf & audio?
  6. Any trick to make this play? Which directory should it be in? It plays fine from windows explorer.
  7. How about a 3rd line - we have game name, description .. and suggest a comment field gets added. In there we could keep info about source/source name/DOF, Mod, Author .. freeform. Its not displayed, simply entered in the manager and stored in the .xml file. Cleansed of funny characters and thats about it. Oh and how about a poll on the forum of all the wishlist items, so you know which ones are important to us ;-)
  8. Check the log.txt and make sure the file is in the right directory, not "blocked" in the properties, and named exactly the same as the game. Watch for spaces. It needs to show during the menu/attract mode then, if hidden was unchecked, it will remain on the screen during the game. You can also use the dmd videos or the colour dmd images in the same manner. -- daryl
  9. Any chance you are loading in games with special characters like & ?
  10. Feature Request - Have menu item on the main wheel menu to drill into the sub-menus. So the main display might list all the pinball.ini files then one item is Sub-Menu1 (for example 80's tables). If I understand correctly, this is currently done by choosing some table on the main list then showing Play table + Your other menus on the second list. I figured it would make more sense to have submenus as part of the main menu. Implementation? Add table entry could be add table entry or menu entry - and act accordingly. -- Daryl.
  11. Just going to close this as the 3rd question has also been answered. With my config the video/images were not displaying after the initial startup. By unchecking the hide dmd option this remains on the screen and is properly covered by the running dmd image of the table.
  12. I will attach the log files .. I think I found a workaround. If I uncheck the Hide DMD, it, I assume, doesnt bother to remove the dmd image/video and simply places the live image on top. When I exited the game, that window gets closed and the menu dmd image/video shows again. It seemed to work in the quick few cases I just tried over the lunch hour ;-) I tried unchecking one .. played it .. exited .. all good.. I played a table with it checked .. exited .. gone .. alt-tab to bring it back. Repeated that a few times. I also tried an older version of pbx that you/was posted on another thread. No difference in how it handled the situatoin. If this unchecking does indeed work then I think I have all my issues ironed out with pinballx and vp. Time to play! Thanks. log1.txt log2.txt log3.txt
  13. No its a gutted Ultrapin with a new pc. So the bg is one monitor .. top 2/3rds is the bg and the bottom 1/3 is the dmd portion.
  14. From the release notes it mentions this but I havent seen it. Is it a setting somewhere to enable it? When I press esc it goes the Exit/Shutdown menu then I click Exit and it exits. What am I missing? --Daryl
  15. I noticed that if I alt-tab to the desktop then alt-tab back it shows up. I also had mixed success unchecking the "hide dmd". I'll grab another log tonight as well. Is there a way to not reset the log prior to starting pinballx? log.txt
  16. What I thought was never working, I discovered works only on the initial startup of pinballx. When I first start pinballx all the dmd images and/or videos show up real nice for each table. I play a game, hit "esc", return to the m enu and I no longer see images/videos in the dmd slot. BG videos/images are there, games play nice but the menu mode doesnt want to show the dmd stuff anymore. If I exit and start pinballx again they show just fine. Config is in my other thread if that is required. How should I debug this? I dont see anything in the logs.
  17. Played about 30+ different games tonight without this issue showing up.. no idea why but it appears to be fine. *Closed* I will start a new thread wth how the dmd images/videos dont show after playing one game and going back to the menu.
  18. I am *not* using the physmod version of vpinball. I may have grabbed a table or two that were mods of that since I didnt know if they would work or not but they were newer versions of the tables. It was working fine with the 80 tables I had previously before the new release .. what was it 1.89? or something that just came thru. I am not sure if that is just coincidence or not. I am using the registry entries of the unaffected tables to reset all the tables back to known good values. That has been my saviour so far. This whole config for me is only 3 weeks old as that is when I started putting my cabinet pieces all together. I hope to do some more testing tonight to see if it happens again or if I can duplicate it.
  19. Last night I added 20 more games to my VP9.9 config. I set them all up using VP first then went to confirm in PinballX. What I found, and I could never find the trigger, something was moving them off the bg monitor and hidding it under the pf. I used dmd_mover to reset the values, confirmed in vp then would go into pinballx and a few would work then something would trigger the "bug?". The dmd would show the reseting rom dmd screens then it would move. Anyways .. I will work on replicating this and report back anything I can to narrow it down. I quickly tried to replicate it this morning but was unable to. I have the very latest pinballx (did not see this in the prior version). I am using VP 9.9 but not a physmod version. I *may* have put a physmod table on in this latest 20 game load. I noticed a couple of others on vpuniverse with this issue. http://vpuniverse.com/forums/topic/1638-pinballx-reset-dmd-position/ The build is a Ultrapin cabinet reworked with new pc etc .. so a 2 screen setup with dmd below the bg on the 2nd monitor. I guess at this point I post just to see if others have seen this or if its a know issue. --Daryl PinballX.ini Visual Pinball.xml log.txt
  20. Thanks for this .. making use of many of these..
  21. More digging last night and I found a couple answers. The coloured back filled images are called underlay & overlay and there is a media directory (and other forum posts) on that. Answered. Import Audio - found a couple that have that .. Whitewater and Whirlwind .. and that plays during the menu selection. Answered. Hide DMD - havent got that figured out yet. Going to try adding a temporary 3rd monitor to my setup to see if its only applicable when you have a 3rd monitor. (I have a split screen bg/dmd on my 2nd monitor from a reworked Ultrapin setup) --Daryl
  22. I have seen a couple images of the menu icons showing on top of a colored & back filled semi-circle. I cant seem to figure out what part of the setup makes that happen. Like this one And a couple other quick questions Just to confirm -- "Hide DMD" means hide the dmd that was playing/shown during the menu operations? Import Audio -- what is that? I cant seem to find anything for a few tables I have tried. Anyone have a sample / table & audio I should use? -- Daryl
