well i was only asking towards the mame game rom list - so i believe you can only delete the roms (from list only not actually deleting them) on the mame list and not the other emulator rom lists?!

i got this working now and it appears fine when exiting the pc games as it goes straight back to the gameex menu. my question is i have created a snaps folder but its not showing any snaps for the roms (eg: links) what is the process to get each game have its own snap on the menu? I have tried to rename them the same as the shortcuts in the images folder but it still doesn't show them? any idea's?

if you remove the roms from the list (pressing DEL) will these stay off when I update GameEx? I don't want to update only to find my rom list has been reset. I can only assume to reset the list I would need to run the UPDATE LIST.

right so with the new version you can use media player without tags but how? When I disable my jukebox option how do you play mp3's via gameex? I want to have it so all my organised folders of mp3 tracks can be easily viewed the same via GameEx (much like viewing videos in GameEx) (and the option to update the folders playlist onto gameex or not (much like when you update the mame list) that will speed up things a bit when loading my HUGE collection of mp3's... I was going to use a 3rd party program but think that it would be best to keep all the stuff under one great program, that being GameEx!!! I love you Tom!! LOL ooo errr.. Now get the above included in the next update - hehe j/k

I have decidced to test out the Media Player yet again (alongside my other MP3 player) but how do I set it up so Media Player uses my folders automatically and not a playlist that MP creates itself (using ID Tags I believe) It sorts all the mp[3's into their own albums whereas I want to have it so the user can play the particular album (ones that I have made up in folders) from GameEx Also, how do you edit or add one mp3 to the gameex playlist? also have you got any extra settings on the mame options line (eg: -skip disclaimer, etc..) remove all the skip tags if so please try removing them - this worked for me when I had the same problem.

Although one other thing Tom - is there a way to run my own MP3 program from the MULTIMEDIA / MP3(Music) Button - in other words can I link it to another program other than Media Player? I find Media Player unstable and I don't like the way it auto sorts the mp3s - unless anyone knows a way where I can sort them in my current FOLDER order. Also you stated above: "It does work, you probably need to remove some of the 'skip' settings from the CMD line." What needs to be in the line and removed from the line then? Thanks.

Hi guys, Eventually got my Mystic HTPC pc up and running with XP and GameEx (decided not to go for MCE due to not really needing the tv recording, etc.) Just a quick few questions if anyone can help; 1) How do you speed up photo slideshow transition 2) where does it grab the background music from? is it just random (this is when 3) What files is the MAME Favs list? 4) Play DVD? I have MP10 installed, why won't it play DVD's? Is there any Codec that works/doesn't work? 5) Why is MAME list slow now since the latest version? Also as an extra note, MAME 100 doesn't work - so i reverted back to .99 and everything is fine!! Looking good tom - now wheres the new menu option to add stuff and remove stuff from the main menu (LOL) - I want to run my Music from front part not via Multimedia... Regards, Neil

thanks. although i am coming to the idea of normal xp with the gameex menu running i dont really see any main advantages over it although can gameex do the following (now or in future update?) 1) Is there an easier way to run MP3's (much the same way as the photo's) and can the queue be viewed/deleted/added to (I really want to just view all my mp3's from my folders (configurable), that way every time you view the folder the mp3 list gets updated. does media player auto update files every time i add to the mp3 folders? 2) Can music (MP3) be added to a list for easier burning to cd from the menu (like the mc menu) 3) will there be an option to record tv, etc not that i need it, just wondered at this stage 4) Is there anything in MC not in GameEx? P.S. I like the idea of it being a updated product whereas media center will get update eventually it doesn't mould to my needs now. what does everyone of running gameex over media center anyday? Can anyone tell me the answer to this silly Noob question (LOL) Whats the main differences between MCE and XP Home? Is MCE just XP with the ability to do what it does best (can it still be used as a normal windows operating system (eg: Play Half Life 2, etc..)) I know this sound silly but I am reinstalling my new HTPC and wondered if I should go for the MCE or stick with 'better the devil you know' XP Home Thanks. Neil

sweet. thanks. is there any other software in the medi centre that is required in the normal windows xp which would make the other buttons work though? i'm sure there would be something out there? or even the winamp type remotes?

Anyone got a good GameEx Boot Screen?? I want to change my boot screen with one that matches the GameEx Or a transparent gif file of the gameex logo i will upload here once its complete. im tring to match the mystic case i have.

also, one last thing i forgot: How do I run Internet explorer as a third party program running using the command line in gameex doesnt work?!

Just installing my pc into my new Thermaltak Mystic HTPC case and running GameEx as the main front end for EVERYTHING!!! But ive got a few probs - 1) Does the Media Center remote work solely without Media Center running - so I can use the remote with GameEx alone 2) How do you run MP3 files? (can we add WinAmp as the player also?) 3) I'm registered but the nag screen comes u now and again since 5.13? why 4) Has anyone got a handy list of good RSS Feeds and 5) Is there anyway to change the menu selections so I can specific what appears on what menu? 6) My MAME Game Category list has mucked up since 5.13 does anyone know what files I need to change again to get all my games running under my own categories. Just a couple of queries - Im atempting to make a new background for my newly developed HTPC (Thermaltake Mystic case) and my queston is is there anyway to just add MP3 lists rather than playlists; in other words it auto search the folders (enable/disable) and it displays the mp3 in the folders (that way I can place them all in their own folders) also, where is the mame background image kept - i have tried to change the mamebak fle but it appeas not to change the mame background. any help and suggestions wold be very grateful!!! Thanks.

I think you need to have ShowDesktop = true I have this working , so when I get back on my machine (at work at present), I will check the config file and upload if necessary. Spyhunter

I want t create a new menu for my Sierra Adventures, so say on START page it reads ADVENTURES then opens into a new menu like OTHER EMULATORS.. Can this be done or is it something of a request until its updated? Just asking.... I;m keen to get everthing on my new machine running from my wireless keybd and mouse to my TV - sweet menu - ell think i'm gona donate again for the same of it!!! LOL

i've got powerdvd installed. i have selected cyber someting for the dvd decoder but i still get a blank screen? can you help pls
