  1. Hi - I had a similar black screen issue until I opened the emulator outside of GameEx and set it to launch full screen. Also - I had to configure my display to 16-bit color from 32-bit. Then they launched perfecto. Hope that helps...
  2. Hi Tom - 'nother member here chiming in. Thanks so much for all the support! Could you explain what running GameEx as .bat will do, as opposed to .exe? Sorry - not system savvy and I'm having similar issues with things freezing as I scroll through the game list. In my case, however, ctrl-alt-delete doesn't even respond, and I tend to have to reboot (I have GameEx in startup and it goes right back to the app no prob.) It sometimes freezes in attract mode on videos as well. THANKS TOM!
  3. Hey guys - thanks for the feedback! I ended up getting a new hub with an ac adapter -- working like gangbusters. Thanks again! James
  4. Hey guys - whatup. Ok - so I've never had this problem before - but it sure as hell is irking me now. For some odd unbeknownst reason its exclusive to GameEx and not Mame32 running independently. USB trackball, spinner, and old school ActLabs light gun - all hubbed on a USB 1.0 hub together. In the middle of "you-name-it-but-specifically-Golden-Tee" games I get the familiar "dun-DUH" windows plug-and-play sound of an interface being unplugged despite no physical unplugging of any device. All of a sudden I lose my trackball, but not my spinner or gun. Or vice-versa. Its a crapshoot. Ever happen to anybody? Any solutions? Power supply perhaps? (just upgraded incidentally). Any support, so greatly appreciated! James

    Silly question

Thanks Tom -- could you elaborate further as to the danger of using PStrip w/AVGA?

    Silly question

Hola gents - Tom - you and your FE rule beyond possible description. SO - I recall running across an item on this forum which I cannot for the life of my find now(much like my car keys and willpower in regards to beer). I don't want to go buggering with the horizontal coil on my arcade monitor - and my Ultimarc Avga card doesn't seem to have a screen adjustment built-in. (or at least I can't find it, which is not a shock really.) Someone once posted an appy that allows you to adjust your screen size? I've tried the GameEx screen settings, but once I go over a certain number the FE won't boot and I get an error log. Would love to get my hands on that app. And a Nutting Associate's Computer Space. Yah - one out of two won't be bad. Thanks gents! James
  8. Oh helllllls yeah --- TOM YOU RULE!! Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and a damn fine New Year to all you like-minded arcade freaks -- God Mame us, everyone!!!
  9. Hola Gents! I want to preface this by saying that I understand that this is not a GameEx related post; however my cab is posted up in the pinned section of the forum: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?sh...=findpost&p=541 and I am a registered user of GameEx (and I recommend everyone donate if they can as the absence of the nag screen is a glorious thing, and To-mas really really works his arse off on this FE) -- so I figure all that's good for something. That said - I got this enormous CO2 panel from SlikStik. Love it - really love it - but its GIGANTIC. I have an old Williams machine that I really would prefer not hacking to bits. Plus, it would look more than a bit off mounted on such a slim cab. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or plan links for a pedestal for this beast that I would mount the panel on and then be able to slide it up to the front of the old panel. Dreamauthentics has that incredible Mega cab that is in two parts - looking to do something along the lines of that pedestal. Any suggestions would be tremendously appreciated! Also - I'm without a shop, but could easily get Home Depot to cut ply to my specs as an alt. (read: I'm a tool with tools) THANKS GENTS! This community RULES! J
  10. ----And indeed it did! Many thanks!
  11. ------------- K - here's the part thats driving me nuts - all the games I select work in Mame32FX, for some reason they just won't launch in GameEx -- it acts like its going to load up, screen goes black, then *pop* - we're back on the game information page. Tom - I just downloaded and installed regular Mame32 and its doing the same thing - any suggestions? THANKS SO MUCH DUDES! J
  12. ------- Thanks Tom! Awesome FE! Just curious - I just updated my roms to the latest set and all of a sudden, whenever I select "play this game" the screen goes black, then pop - right back to the game info screen. When I select the update game list option, it recognizes all of the roms fine. Any ideas? Thanks! J
  13. Hi guys - hey Tom - whatup ----- just curious - I know GameEx is compat with Mame and MAME32 - how about MAME32FX? I just tried to play a game in GameEx after setting the path to Mame32FX and when I select "play this game" It goes into launch mode, then reverts back to the menu. Is this due to incompatability, or is there a way to work around this? THANKS DUDES! J
  14. Hi Tom, I'm right there with Wrench. When GameEx goes into attract mode after sitting idle, I get a 50/50 of the following 2 scenarios: a.) everything is A-Ok and I get nice "previews" of my Mame games; and hitting any button takes me back to the GameEx menu or b.) screen goes black as if its going to load a "preview" - but alas never does and remains black. Hitting any button on my cab when this happens does not bring me back to my GameEx menu and I must power down the PC, reboot and start over. Sometimes scenario b happens after a few games have "previewed" in attract mode; which leads me to wonder if its certain games that are causing this black-screen lockup. Anyone else have this issue and found a way to resolve it? I love GameEx by the way man - use it exclusively for my cab (don't use the jukebox features or the other fancy stuff - just the pure emulator front-end) - and I'd gladly pay shareware for the use! James
