Noob, One of the reasons I downloaded Gameex to tryout was the support for 3D Cab art. Where is the best place to download 3D arcade models in the correct format for Gamex? I searched the forums and found a few posts but they had dead links.

Finally got it working. Thanks all. It was probably something to do with catver.ini like U-man said. I downloaded a fresh install of Mameui and it starting working.

I'm sure my roms are not perfect but I'm hoping that's not my issue and want to try other options before scouring for an updated set. I cut down my rompath to 1. The other was just an oversight I made during set-up. Thanks for your input!

Thanks, I'll give that a try if some of the other suggestions don't pan out. My C: drive is a smaller SSD so I like to keep it lean

Where do you turn off verify roms?

Think I found it: Stallls on Verify.dat (55%). As I said, I let that sucker run for hours and nothing. I found the guide that says to access the log in Start Menu > Program Files > GameEx > Utilities> Log File. Only thing I see in that folder (Program Files x68 for me) is a theme folder. no Utilities folder.

I'm a GameEx noob but been working with many other front ends for years. I thought I would start easy with Mame but with a fresh install I'm getting a "Updating game list... Creating Verify.dat and it stalls at 55%. Left it running overnight and no change. I even deleted everything and reinstalled... Same issue. It stalls at 55% and I have to use the task manager to quit. Not a wonderful experience so far.
