  1. Hello guys, I don't know if this is a bug or something but I just can't get pinballx to respond to my keyboard presses. Here is the whole story. I recently reformatted my system but backed up PinballX install dir to a D:\Pinball\PinballX drive. (My first installation was on C:\PinballX) . After copy/paste the backup I updated pinballx through the installer to 1.72 but since the restore process I just can't get my keyboard to work. I went through the settings wizzard process and was able to map the keys but I'm getting no response from PinballX. I tried everything, uninstall and reinstall did not work. I've also checked to config file and the keys were mapped correctly in the file. Any clues? btw. I'm using windows 7 and I tried the same with Hyperpin and everything works fine. Thanks in advance
  2. Looks awesome, especially the artwork... punchy! I also need to design the artwork for my cab but just can't find the time to do it.
  3. Its a standard Williams cabinet. I found an old Congo (non functional) pinball machine. Took all the parts, sold what I could and used the cabinet for my digital pinball. Of course I had to do some repairs on the cabinet as well, like sanding, new primer and black color on top. I drilled all the pushbuttons and made wooden base to hold the lcd.
  4. Tried to put this at the end of my vpt table script but it doesn't work, old B2S backglasses still refuse to quit.
  5. Check out the config wizard and see if you've set PinballX to autostart when windows starts? Disabling this feature solved my error that was pretty close to your issue.

    DW Jukebox

I was requesting for this feature to be added to PinballX but I don't think its the devs priority now. Check out this topichere: http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/12910-pinballx-enhancementsfeatures-requests/?p=107309 I wasn't able to get it working maybe you're gonna be having more luck and of course, if you succeed let me know
  7. Agree! Don't need these generic files... Most, if not everyone, who is about to install PinballX knows how to deal with files and table addition to the database. Especially when theres the Table Manager present.
  8. Although I didn't take a picture of with a frontend , but here it is my pincab beauty running supported by PinballX
  9. OK guys thanks for the input... so basic approach would be this: I need to create a folder inside Database and Media called Jukebox and then try to connect PinballX to the custom batch file that starts the jukebox.exe file?
  10. I've added Medieval Madness (Williams 1997).wav (and mp3) - my version is slightly bit different from Lyanheart's, its contains music and voice quotes only without the actual gameplay sounds like the bouncers and ball hit sounds. Of course, you can find it here: Media > Visual Pinball > Table Audio > Medieval Madness (Williams 1997).wav Media > Visual Pinball > Table Audio > Medieval Madness (Williams 1997).mp3 P.S. I don't know which files PinballX prefers tbh, so I've added both
  11. Thank you for your audio. I turned up the volume on The Arabian Nights file, also run some cleaning and Normalizing the audio... anyway, you can download the file in Media > Visual Pinball > Table Audio > Tales of the Arabian Nights cut.wav (I can also convert it to mp3 if you like, just let me know).
  12. It can be added, but then again, it would be impossible to run it without keyboard... anyhow.. here'e how HyperPin is doing it. As we all know, hyperpin is using FPlaunch to launch the tables. Now, the latest mod version of fplaunch is Fplaunch 1.295 WIP 10 adds support for jukebox. Please head over to http://vpuniverse.com/forums/topic/315-fplaunch-1295-wip-10/ and download the latest fplanch. Then take a look into the file fplaunch.ahk and just search for dwjukebox (or jukebox) then you'll see a few lines of code that handles the processing of a .bat file (also included in the zip) which is just a basic batch file containing code to run the actual dwjukebox.exe software. Now, part two... In order to actually be able to show the jukebox in PinballX table list and blend nicely into the interface (and start it) , one has to make a .vpt file called jukebox.vpt and delete all the script code in it. The newly created vpt table is added to Visual Pinall.xml database just like a regular table. Then it can be selected in PinballX table menu. Selecting the file, the launcher parses the instructions and instead running the .vpt table (which acts only as a fronted puppet) runs the batch code. hope this helps! Thanks in advance
  13. Just what I was looking for! Thanks, can't wait for the clips... btw. Does anyone have a clue how to directly rip a music from the ROM file?
  14. After spending the whole afternoon figuring out what went wrong I finally fixed the "problem". The thing is, I was using Hyperpin and when I installed PinballX I just copied Visual Pinball.xml to the PinballX database as it turns out, PinballX has it's own (btw awesome) Game Manager where you can hide the backglass. For some reason, the backglass was set to be hidden so I just had to change "show backglass: true" . Now that made my day. Another thing, about the pointer... I fixed it just by changing my W7 Visual Style from Classic to Aero (win7 default) and it fixed itself. Anyhow... PinballX runs smooth and is way more reliable than Hyperpin on my machine. Kudos to the developer for this great product... keep up the good work , and of course, looking forward to donate to keep the project alive and kicking
  15. Simple request... a support for dwjukebox. I really miss using my pinball cabinet as a jukebox on parties since I switched from Hyperpin to PinballX
  16. Bump... I'm using version 1.51 and got the same issue.. Mouse cursor on the center of the sceen. Btw. using Sleep + runpinballx.bat (shortcut placed in startup for my cab). Any fix? ----- Fixed... It seems that PinballX doesn't play very well with Windows 7 Classic theme... Just changed to back to Aero and it got fixed!
  17. Thanks Lyanheart! Got that! Now, one more thing... when I start the table, table loads fine, dmd too (on my 3rd monitor) but the Backglass image disappears... hm.. Is it supposed to be this way? Hyperpin leaves the image on the backglass while playing the table.
  18. Hi all, first of all, thank you for this amazing frontend. I was a long time Hyperpin user but then decided to swith to PinballX (mainly because its being actively updated) and I love the frontend so far. I'd like to thank the programmer for this sweet little piece of code. Hope you can keep it up! Now for my actual question which may sound a little bit newbish, but how do you successfully update PinballX without loosing the predefined configuration options? I'm using an older version and I'd like to update to 1.51... now is it just a matter of running the installation file and overwriting every file in the PinballX install directory? Thanks for your help!
