I know nologic has a ton of talent, but I didn't know it extended into graphical arts as well. Nologic, have you been holding out on us Seriously though, I think Amos was the one who created all of the great icons/graphics for the different systems so he might be able to throw something together quicker (especially with all the projects that nologic has going!).

Is this your main selection window or the filter window? If it's the main window, then it looks like you are pointing the custom folders to a location that contains catver.ini (which contains categories AND versions). If it's the filter window, then that's also contained in the catver.ini file. I thought it knew not to display the version number though, so I don't know why it would anyway unless your .ini file is malformed.

This is a tough one since the error log doesn't really say what database it's working with at the time. My best guess is to uninstall, delete the GameEx directory (to get rid of all configuration files), then reinstall. When you set it up, try to keep it as stock as possible (don't install any emulators, leave the default theme, etc.). I still think the most helpful thing would be the config file (C:\Program Files\GameEx\CONFIG\GameEx.ini by default).

Any chance the search feature will span emulators? I was hoping that there might be a way to search for mario and have it display all results from MAME, NES, SNES, N64, etc. This is a lot more complicated than you were probably planning, but this would be AWESOME!!!!

The problem is that noone can post a link since this is a retail program (albeit very old and out of print). Your best bet is to either search the torrent sites, P2P, IRC, or Newsgroups. I suppose there's a chance you can find it other ways, but this post probably already goes to far... On the other hand, you might get lucky and find someone who owns it and is willing to sell it to you.

I like the idea of being able to make new themes, but when it comes down to it I'm just not that talented with building them. Thus, I have to vote for Search since I know I would use that!

Looks like there might be a problem with a filter or something. It first errors on an SQL call to the database. Perhaps you could zip and upload your GameEx.ini configuration file. Perhaps that might help.

Well, first of all, do you have a valid executable for advancedmame? I would also suggest trying to run a game using advancedmame through GameEx and then exiting out. Try launching the RunLastGame link in the GameEx menu. If it doesn't work there, it won't work in GameEx either. We can help debug if you have problems that you can't figure out from there...

You'll need to email Tom about this directly. There was a slight change in the registration system recently that might be affecting your license.

If you are talking about the list generated from catver, then you could delete the version number entries. I don't exactly understand what you are talking about seeing in your list, but if there are no version numbers listed, then it's a mute point...

I think the map file is a manually created text file, so by syncing to that, I think you would need to manually edit out the ones that don't apply anymore. Nologic knows a LOT more about map files than me though.

Can you add a configuration option to not have the screen saver turn on if GameEx isn't active? I think this is a bug that needs to be fixed, but others like it this way, so it appears a configuration option would be good. To describe what happens, if you run GameEx then minimize it, it will sit there waiting for you. But, after the time you set in the config for the screensaver delay, it kicks on the screen saver. When you quit the screen saver it brings GameEx back up into the forground. If I'm working on configuring something, or reading email, I don't want the screen saver to kick in since I'm still using the PC but not GameEx.

I didn't realize there were still sets waiting in the queue to get worked on. I can probably help out later this week, but more likely not til next week. Do you remember what thread the work is in so I can get the tools and DB's?

Have you updated your list? It shouldn't list anything that doesn't exist.

It's so sad...I have spent so much time acquiring all of these complete sets for my favorite consoles and have yet to actually set up anything beyond NES and SNES

I thought I read somewhere that there was a way to use USB to wake...but perhaps that was just USB keyboards. If that option was available, I would expect it to be in the BIOS, so you probably would have seen it and tried it already. Anyway, If that's not the case, then I don't think it would work short of having a USB or PS/2 keyboard encoder. I don't think there is any way to use XPadder to map the inputs from the USB device to a keyboard to turn it on since the computer is effectively turned off and not running any programs (so XPadder can't translate the button presses).

I think both have their place. I would like to be able to display the original card if it's available, but agree that when playing the CPWizard is a little easier.

I only tried GameEx around v5, but looking at the progress over the last year...WOW!!!!! Happy BDay!

Just curious if things can be turned off in a config of some kind? I have poor connectivity on my WiFi and drop in and out all the time. I could fix it, but ehhh... Anyway, if it freaks out about losing connectivity due to IRC, that would be bad!

Any thoughts on the next step? I think these deserve completion and incorporation!
