Tom Speirs Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Upload Emulator configurations here, along with new emulator databases or updates to existing emulator databases. Most databases ane emulator configs should upload fine if zipped. I recommend you upload your emulator configs as zipped ini files now, because GameEx now supports importing emulator configs. Also upload any Wrappers or Loaders here, they get lost in the forum, so please post them here.Add Reply and Upload here.NOTE: This should be for replies with attachments only (or pasted text), and if you wish to comment on attachments please create a NEW topic. headkaze Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 I just installed Daemon Tools v4.0.3 and Chankast crashes with GPF. I tried it without chankast_launch, same thing.I uninstalled DT 4.0.3, then installed Daemon Tools 4.0, rebooted and it works again.Looks like DT 4.0.3 conflicts with Chankast. Lorecarver Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Here are 2 config setup's for running PC Games on GameEX...The two packages show you how to run a PC Game wih and without the need or use of DOSBox (for those older Dos based games). What I've done is wrote a crued (I mean crued, becasue I am new to this) script to run the games with "Autoit 3.0" along with some batch files. The "ReadMe.txt" file inclosed will tell you how to write the batch files needed, configer GameEX to run the games of your choice, create a batch file to mount/unmount a cd/dvd game with daemon tools and run it in GameEX. It will also tell you what you need as far as programs to use to get the game up and running. The "PC_DOSBox_Games_Config".zip package has all the files you need for a game installed on your computer and does not require the cd to play, and for a game installed on your computer but does need the game to play. (and how to get around the needing the cd to play part!)The "PC_Games_Config.zip" package has all the files you need for a game installed on your computer but does not require DOSBox to run it. You can also use the files in the first package with this package to run games that still require the cd to play. After you have configured one game (timely I'm sure) you can just copy the files for other games and the work only takes about 2 minutes per game. The Autoit script file also gives you the abiltiy to set up your exit key to EXIT the Game, ie: BACKSPACE, TAB, etc...The one good thing I do like though, is if your game ever hangs on you, hitting the configured "EXIT" key will terminate the program and take you back to GameEX.I hope this helps someone out there, or even gives you an idea to make something you've done better.LorecarverPC_DOSBox_Games_Config.zipPC_Games_Config.zip Quote

hansolo77 Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Ok, here's my next config for GameEx. This is for the Amstrad CPC system. Goodtools has a romset for this system called "GoodCPC v2.02". This config tutorial assumes you are using this in 7-zip goodmerged format.#01 -> Download WinAPE from here. As of this posting, the current version is 2.0a8. So grab that. If a newer version is released, it has not been tested to work with this config.#02 -> Download Nologic's WinAPE wrapper from here.#03 -> Download your romset from somewhere.#04 -> Create a folder on your system to hold all these files. I used a subfolder in my games folder called "Amstrad CPC" but you can use whatever you want.#05 -> Extract WinAPE and the wrapper to that newly created folder.#06 -> Move your romset to a new folder (current rom folder is for system bios's).#07 -> Launch WinAPE and configure your settings like this:#08 -> Key things to change: Disable Automatic Update (the most recent version is falsely reporting a new update everytime the program loads), Hide Control Panel, Hide Menus, DirectSound, 44kHz, 16-bit, Stereo (if no sound options are changed, Window's sounds will be distorted if WinAPE crashes..), configure joystick if needed.#09 -> Exit the settings box and press [F10] to make the program run in full-screen. Then press [ALT]+[F4] to close the program.#10 -> In GameEx Setup Wizard, create a new emulator and configure it to use the root new folder for the working path, the new rom folder as the rom path, MAP KEYS, 7-zip enabled.#11 -> Command Line: Simple_Wrapper.exe "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"#12 -> If you have them or plan to in the future, you can create and setup paths for the artwork too.#13 -> Try it and enjoy it! emphatic Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 This is an .ini-file that enables browsing and opening of .cbr & .cbz files with CDisplay Comic Reader http://www.geocities.com/davidayton/CDisplay (it's an app that reads .rar and .zip renamed to .cbr or .cbz containing various picture formats). If you're a comic fan (like myself) and like to read the latest comics (marvel and so on) you might be familiar with the format. The CDisplay is similar to Adobe Acrobat in functionality, but has fully customizable controls that makes it great for viewing pictures that you can store zipped on your harddrive (excellent for those "special collections" ) and is a fullscreen app. Here's the emulator .ini to use CDisplay with GameEx:[Emulator_1]Enabled=TrueSTARTPAGENAME=Comic - Ultimate Spider-ManTITLETEXT=Ultimate Spider-ManStartPageLogo=ROMFilter=*.cbr;*.cbzRomsInFolders=FalseRomPath=D:\Comics\Ultimate Spider-ManSnapPath=D:\Comics\Ultimate Spider-Man\coversTitlePath=BoxPath=CartPath=WorkingPath=C:\Program Files\CDisplayMapKeys=TrueWaitBeforeKeys=SendKeys=ReplaceDash=TrueReplaceUnder=TrueCapitals=TrueRemoveBrackets=TrueShowDesktop=TrueDebug=FalseMAPFile=AlsoLaunch=Command=cdisplay.exe "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]"OLDatZip=LaunchBefore=LaunchAfter=configFile=ExcludedFiles=CustomBackground=PlayMusic=PCGame=DATABASE=GamesIn7Zips=PlayInScreenSaver=False[GENERAL]DumbyValue=Like this:Emph Quote

greatflash Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 CCS Commodore 64 Emulator Zip Setup-----------------------------------------------This Config allows you to run commodore 64 roms that are zipped. The files i have used are the c64 roms from the Gamebase64 collectionI have renamed them with GoodGB64http://www.emuhq.com/idx/88/107/Good-Serie...e/GoodGB64.htmlExtract the files included into your ccs folder. (c64.rar)Import the emulator config included in 'c64_ini.rar' (remembering to change the paths), and that should be all you need to doHope this works for you all, this was my first attempt at writing a batch script and feedback is appreciated.Good luck!UPDATE - Supports spaces and long filenames now :) UPDATE - Run.cmd now supports .d64 .t64 .p00 .tap and .crt filesA note for gameex users, in ccs it is a good idea to change the key binding for the commodores RUN-STOP key and change it to the pc key TAB. By default ccs uses ESC as a RUN-STOP key. This is not good as quite a lot of intro's on games will use RUN-STOP as a key to exit them to run the game, so... when you press it gameex just quits ccs and returns to your rom select. Just thought i would mention it!!!EDIT: When using multiple disks, pressing F10 when the game requests will bring a list of the disks (when using GoodGB64 zipped roms) and allow you to select the next disk.Example emulator config[Emulator_12]Enabled=TrueSTARTPAGENAME=Commodore 64TITLETEXT=Commodore 64 GamesStartPageLogo=Commodore 64ROMFilter=*.zipRomPath=d:\mess\software\c64SnapPath=d:\images\snaps\c64TitlePath=d:\images\titles\c64BoxPath=d:\images\box\c64CartPath=ManualPath=d:\images\manuals\c64ControlPanelPath=InstructionsPath=WorkingPath=d:\emulators\c64\MapKeys=FalseWaitBeforeKeys=SendKeys=ReplaceDash=FalseReplaceUnder=TrueCapitals=TrueRemoveBrackets=TrueShowDesktop=FalseDebug=FalseMAPFile=AlsoLaunch=Command=runzip.cmd "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]"OLDatZip=LaunchBefore=LaunchAfter=configFile=[Mapping Off] Exit (ALT+F4)ExcludedFiles=CustomBackground=Back - Commodore 64.pngPlayMusic=DontShowInfo=PlaySelectionMusic=SelectionMusicFolder=PCGame=DATABASE= Commodore 64GamesIn7Zips=FalsePlayInScreenSaver=FalseShowMostPlayed=TrueRandomMostPlayed=CDCheck=FalseCDCheckFile=[GENERAL]DumbyValue=C64_ini.rarc64.rar Quote
greatflash Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Vice Commodore Vic20 Emulator Zip Setup--------------------------------------------------This Config allows you to run commodore Vic20 roms that are zipped. You may ask, why would i want to run them as zips when they are so small already? The main reason is that a lot of the good vic20 rom sets are already zipped and tidy. I used GameBaseVic20, Tosec, and No-intro sets to check this config.Second thing that this config tries to do is to determine what memory banks need to be active to run the game image. If you have a unexpanded 3k game and try to run it on a vic20 with 24k of expanded - it will not run. same rule applies for many different sizes. I have checked over 200 images and all runs fine. I have not checked cartridges fully, but it should recognise what memory area the cart needs to load into and run (unless the cartridge needs a SYS call to run it - then it is time for you to type on the Vic)This works the same way as my c64 config.so... Place the contents of 'VIC.RAR' in your Vice emulators root directory and import the emu config in 'Vic20EmConfig.RAR' remembering to change your paths.Set Xvic.exe to how you wish (it will auto to fullscreen) and run the wonderful GameEx.Hope all goes well...If there are any probs or suggestions, please open a thread and i will see what i can do..UPDATE: Vic.rar updated. Found problems with a couple of carts not running. Fixed and carts now load to correct memory space. All tested work!Vic20Emconfig.rarVic.rar Quote
