Hi. I have just purchase the "1 year of updates" package. I'm not entirely sure what is meant by "1 year of updates" though.

Can someone clarify this for me please?

What I think it means is you have the full registered version of GameEx for life and 1 year of updates. If after a year you want to continue receiving updates (and GameEx is updated often) then you may like to purchase another year of updates.

You will receive all updated versions of GameEX for one year.

TBH,you really cant get a much better deal then that, considering how often GameEX is updated and new features added

OK, cool.

So after a year all new features will be unavailable to me - unless I spend a bit more money again, but the ones from before a year into the future, will still be available?

Edit: Actually you meant that I won't be able to update it at all, didn't you? That's still cool though!

yes after a year you wont be a registered user anymore, and if you do not plan to renew i recommend keeping a copy of your most recent install

Are you sure about this? I think the registration is for life but the "free updates" are either one to three years or a lifetime depending on the package you buy. So you will still have all features unlocked after your "free update" period is over which means you are still registered.

Yes.I think we are both mean the same thing just saying it differently :) thats why i said to keep a setup of the last registered version.lets say my subscription expired today. If i were to update to 11.87 i would be a unregistered user, and wouldnt have access to all the registered feature.but if i keep 11.86,i will still have access to all the features, registered one included.Im pretty sure I have seen Tom explain this before.im sure he will chime in when he sees this thread.;)

Was just the way it was said. User will still be a registered user but only for those releases within that time frame. Anything beyond that would require a new license to utilize the new features and updates.

I guess there would be no other way to do it. If you updated after your "free update" period is over and your registration key still worked you would still be getting free updates. So yeah I get what you're saying about not updating if you want to keep your registration after that period (or just purchase a lifetime key)

Should there be a warning for those people that are on the 1 year plan when the license expires? I would personally like to know (if I were on that plan) if clicking "yes update" were going to screw things up. Perhaps a setting that checks and automatically disables the auto update feature? I don't know, but something like a warning at a minimum.
