[RESOLVED] screensaver problem

hi. i have an arcade cabinet with a vertically mounted arcade monitor. i only play vertical games on this cab so i use only mame. everything works perfect but i can't make the screensaver to work and i can't figure out why. i need some help please! here's the log file:

We're gonna need the whole log, not just the snippet of it.

Internet research shows this is an error common to MSN Messenger, no idea why it's working against you here. Fact is you either deleted a COM object or DLL and didn't unregister it first somehow, or something got junked up in an uninstall somewhere. Give this a try:

Update your GameEx build to the recent version first, then try and run it again. You also may want to install .net framework 1 and 3 as a troubleshooter.

i don't mhave internet on that machine. how can i do it? and also, i'm a little afraid that it could change my configuration. like i said, everything runs perfect except the screensaver. if you say it's safe i'll do it

Just to ease your mind you can make a copy of the GameEx directory as a backup but it should be fine to update it.

You can download the GameEx offline installer from www.gameex.com and run it on your offline machine to update it, but I would look at adding and updating your .net framework packs first. GameEx uses .net framework function calls to do what it does.

It looks like GameEx is not installed properly and has been copied across. As said try a reinstall.

Thank you. you were right. i made a safe copy of my gameex folder and then i updated. it didn't work at all. but when i delete the folder and put back the safe copy, the screensaver started to work perfect. bye
