I just updated to 11.84 and now I have this exact same issue.

I read through this topic and tried varios things and nothing works

I am running windows 7 Ultimate (pre-SP1) 32 bit, I have net framework 3.5 installed and am using my dark champion theme.

This was working in 11.74 I think I just did my updates today, defo something conflicting somewhere

Just a note it does not seem to matter what theme you are using I tried them all thinking the problem might be there. I also did of ring of new installs from windows hoping it might be a problem from their end but nothing is working.

This is something that needs troubleshooting fast. AS you've been dealing with it for awhile now and nothing seems to be working. At this point, I'm not aware of a fix as it seems unique to a few users. Perhaps we should share settings and see the differences between them so we can narrow down the culprit. I'll be in the chat room for a bit for real-time support for those users that are seeing this. Maybe we can figure it out.

I too am switching out my P4 cab Pc to a dual core.prolly this week.out of curiosity, why havent you made the switch to W7 yet?

when i was running xp sp3,there was ALWAYS problems.nothing but problems.xD since installing W7 I have had 0 issues, havent reformatted in almost a year and half!

I got my friend to finally stop using the 12 year old XP and use W7.that was 6 months ago.he still thanks me at least once a month! ;)

In all honesty it's because I got 15 XP licenses sitting around and XP has been good to me for the most part. No real reason other than that though.

I didn't think XP was even at a decade yet? 12 years? I thought it was released in 2001.

Edit: According to Wikipedia.

@Tom: As per Frequency's suggestion, adding the line skipintro=true to my theme.ini fixed it for me. However it makes the screen black on startup.

It has to be something in the startup logo animation procedure.

Actually I just recommended making that change in Setup Wizard. Never said making it to the theme.ini. But if that works too. LOL. :D

I'm oldschool freq, I do everything the hard way! *LOL*

.:EDIT:. It has been my experience that you can set a default for just about anything in the theme.ini and it will override GameEx's default settings. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Sorry Tom, still no joy. :(

This is 100% true I found this out myself just yesterday when I was trying to figure out why changing settings in the setup wiz

wasnt having any effect on the theme.it was cause these were set in the ini :)

hey guys i dont often post (havnt had alot of time of late but...)

posting to say i have the same issue i did read the entire thread so far and i have a dual core amd and a nvidia card and exactly the same issue after startup with gamex HOWEVER i have another issue when i play videos and then let one run back to the menu switch off my plasma then let it be awhile i come back rightclick back a menu select a new one and sometimes it will bluescreen the machine causing a total reboot

NOW nothing has changed on my setup except for gameex updates and the shark codec pack

ive checked my machine logs (not game ex) and found no info not even on the bluescreen as its so fast i cant even see what the bluescreen crash is saying before the reboot

im at a loss on this one

forgot to mention im using the standard animated theme (too lazy to make one at this point)

oh and the forum lurker status suits my avatar pic so well dont you think? =p

I got around this issue with a little help from frequency.

We set skip into to true and now GameEX no longer hangs.

I can live without the logo zooming in when I run GameEX but the issue must be there.

by the way I had no special intro on my gameEX theme.
