Hey guys!

I'm having an odd problem running Virtua Fighter 2 via SSF. I get music but no sound effects :lol: I'm using Deamon Tools to mount the cue sheet since Clone Drive doesn't support it for some odd reason. Anyway all that works except I don't get any sound effects like punch sounds etc.. Is anyone else having this problem? Or is it a SSF issue? I have the original disc too. I haven't tried that yet.

so you not getting music but you are getting the sound effects? I was having this problem a few days ago and it turned out my rom filter was set to .bin instead of .cue

Nah I get music but no sound effects. I just tried my original disc and the same thing occurs. My filter is set to cue. I'm trying it outside of GameEx. I'm not sure what is going on :(

thats funny cause I was having the exact opposite-sound effects,no music.and this just started recently? in SSF options do you have linear filtering checked?

Original disc was tested by mounting it and running SSF? Then may be a setting. As far as file not working that could depend on the rip.

Yeah, I tried my original disc by putting it in my DVD drive and it did the same thing :( However I tried a rip of Virtua Fighter Remix and all the sound effects work lol.

Not sure about the original disc but as far as your rip maybe the rip is not playing due to the way it was ripped. Please post your directory listing of this game and also the cue file contents as well.

Thanks to fRequEnCy we got it working it was simple. Had to set it to highest then change the 1BlockClock from 80 to 90.

Resolved! Found suggestion on a youtube video.

is the link for future reference. Solution is as following:

  • Click Option
  • Click Option
  • Click on EZ Setting tab
  • Click Set button in Highest Compatibility group
  • Click OK
  • Click Option
  • Click Option
  • Click on Progam2 tab
  • Change 1Block Clock to 90
  • Click OK
  • Restart emulator and all should work

I did the extra Ok's to be safe and to make sure it wrote to the config file. I'm sure it's just a matter of tweaking settings but since I don't use this emulator this was the best I could come up with.
