ok what r keymaps? my question is i have installed a fruit machine emulator MFME and the keys are 0 for money in,1,2,3,4, enter, space etc... i have my ipac set for the emulator games and alter the configs in emulators accordingly, ok so far no problem...MFME doesnt have an option to alter keys and i`ll be buggered if im gonna reconfig the ipac and all the game configs to suit this, ive heard of keymaps? what does this do and is it possible to use in GameEx to alter the keys to what i want...i want to use the buttons on my cab to represent the buttons of the fruit machine? if this makes sence.

Any help appreciated, but im not a scripter so please dont say write a script or summit cos id be lost lol.

Using an advanced config will allow you to remap keys. For example....If you controller has a button that's mapped to "x" and you need to send "y" to the emulator. GameEx will handle the remapping for you and is simple to do. Just run Setup Wizard and in Advanced Emulator Setup, click the button next to Advanced Config and it will run the application for you to do what you need. The application is pretty forward as what needs to be done but if you get stuck then let us know. I'm sure even you can figure this one out. ;) Then you just save it and it's available in the dropdown for you to select and use for this emulator.

This can also be achieved by 3rd party applications or even a script. We have AutoIt and AutoHotKey scriptors in our forums that can guide you. I am an AutoIt scriptor and must say that AutoHotKey is easier to use in this situation. But depending on your needs then everything can probably handled by GameEx using the above suggestion and will keep everything within GameEx.

Wasn't a vote of confidence so much as wishful thinking on my end. :P

sorted it was a conflict. I had the I-PAC mapped to do keys and then i was trying to remap what the I-PAC was sending if that makes sence, if not Tuff luck :P - cos i know what i mean :D ... Nice feature the advanced config editor, i will be using more, hell of a lot better than trying to mess about with keys in the emulator itself so thanks.

Ian.
