[RESOLVED] ePSXe Configuration with gameex

dudunkle

Recommended Posts

Hi, :)

I have configured GameEx with emulator epsxe, but the games donâ??t start.

I think the problem is in these pages...

Does anyone know where am I wrong?

Thanks

It would be best to export your config so that we can see all the settings you have for this emulator. Also what are the details of it not starting? Does GameEx try to run the emulator and then returns back right away? Please give more detail so we know how to direct you to troubleshoot.

Does epsxe run outside of GameEx ? if so then its only a matter of getting the correct command line if not then try setting epsxe up outside of gameex 1st, i take it you have the psx1 bios?. If not don't ask for here you will need to search google.

On other note have you tryed PSX ? Grab it HERE i have both installed and found psx easier and better to set up.

Ian.

A quick return usually indicates an issue with the command-line (could be incorrect paths, the exe, or even parameters). Please try troubleshooting by following Step 4B in the link i directed you to before and post the results.

Also, did you install ISO Mounting Support? This is required to use the [-VIRTUALDRIVE-] parameter!

But when I try to load a game, the following error compare:

Do you know where I mistake?

Its because you are trying to open a bin file under the exe path which you cant do as bin is an image, load epsxe up then goto File, run ISO.

Dudunkle-what format are your psx games in? are they iso or bin\cue?

on a side note,I & another of our members adultery have recommended pSX to many members here, simbamame included and they were all using epsxe and having issue.now they all use pSX without any issues.what I am suggesting is that you may want to make things a bit easier for yourself and make the switch. ;)

but regardless of your decision we will help you best we can

I don't use a ISO Mounting Support for load the games, I kept the default configuration of GameEx... :P

Then that command-line would be invalid as ISO Mounting Support would be required for the [-VIRTUALDRIVE-] parameter.

I have changed the command line in following way:

ePSXe.exe -nogui "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"

This is also invalid. Please take a look at the documentation for this emulator!

But when I try to load a game, the following error compare:

Do you know where I mistake?

It errors because it is an invalid parameter. Really depends on the format of your disc images but for basic support by using the emulator and not a disc mounting application then try the following:

ePSXe.exe -nogui -loadbin "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"

The roms for psx have different formats:

.bin

.bin .ape

.bin .cue

.ccd .img. sub

.mdf .mds

Iâ??m using both emulators PXS and ePSXe because some games that work with PXS not run on ePSXe and vice versa....

Configure pSX with GameEx has not given to me no problems!

Its because you are trying to open a bin file under the exe path which you cant do as bin is an image, load epsxe up then goto File, run ISO.

It errors because it is an invalid parameter. Really depends on the format of your disc images but for basic support by using the emulator and not a disc mounting application then try the following:

ePSXe.exe -nogui -loadbin "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"

I have changed the command line as suggested and now the games of GameEx start! :)

It also start the games that have a different extension of .bin!

Thanks!!
