All of my DOS Games wont run in GameEx 5.33! What the heck.

Emulators that pass the ROMs will work fine, but EXE's, BAT or any other commands wont run at all.

My log shows

"22:05:38.4 1/3/2006: Loading Emulator 176: A Dudley Dilemna (1989)(Lane Barrow)"

"22:07:22.3 1/3/2006: Running: cmd.exe /c E: dudley.bat"

That error log line isnt very helpful. Gameex just comes back to the interface.

I have tested the same gameex.ini in version 370 and everything is fine and the games boot normally. WHAT CHANGED!

Additionally if you know anything about controller inputs going crazy when you try to navigate games, that would be cool too. But this is most important.

Thanks for reading about my problems.

Take a look at runitgame.bat in the Data directory, this will show exactly what GameEx is launching. See if you can spot anything wrong, try launching it, and also post it here.

It also seems that your using a seperate emulator for each game. The way I invisage PC games working is to have one emulator and list all the PC Games of a particular type.

Anyway, I am sure runitgame.bat will shed some light.

What might be happening is your launchbefore (which was not a feature in the earlier version you mentioned), is the only thing running, it runs then returns to gameex. I notice its a batch file so that would be normal behaviour if its called directly. You could try moving that to Also Launch instead. You also have Launchbefore set twice, so its probably running the latter batch file.

yeah thanks a bunch tom. You rock. I totally didnt see those things and I will check out my ini files when I get home. i think I replaced all in my ini file with the wrong thing, that definitely could of caused some havoc. It probably didnt know which batch file to launch since launchbefore had a duplicate.

I never knew about runit.bat. Thanks a bunch Tom.

In regards to the separate emulators, do you think that I could create a map file of all my PC games and game names and EXE's to launch and then pass the game EXE into it? I just am not sure how screenshot can be produced then. Wouldnt the screenshot have to have the same name as the "ROM" or in this case an "EXE" or BAT file?

Tom you are a cool guy.... someday you should have a get together at your house and we could all bring our PC's and could show off our gameex systems and configs and stuff. People use it for many things. We could have some kind of gameex competition or something!!! Who has the coolest setup, ya know.... Do you have a bio on your site or anything? Thanks dude. Happy new year.
