Why is it that when you run Mame32 GUI it says that you have 5000+games and when i start GameEx it says that there is 3000+.

GameEx gets it list from Mame Folder,so why is there such a large difference.

Any help appreciated.

It's because of game filters. Check your configuration and see what you are allowing to be shown. I had the same question. When I verified my latest rom folder with 5000 plus roms, I included all clones, non-working roms and the adult content games and they all showed up. With those filters on, only about 2300 roms were showing. If you just use mame32, you will find that there are tons of games that do not work or are not 100% accurate. It seems that GamEx has the ability to eliminate all of the crap and display the good stuff.
