Any idea why my intro video might be flipped horizontally and vertically when running version 5.33? It runs fine under windows media. Not sure what I did to mess this up.

I had the same problem. I uninstalled GamEx (also any video codec packs I had like Nimo). Then I installed:

ffdshow-20041012-sse2.exe

from:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=53761

Then I reinstalled GamEx and it finally worked. If you have an upside down starup video, then you will also have upside down video snaps. So you definitely want to fix that. It took me forever to get this right, but following the above steps finally worked for me.

This actually happened to me on my older compter about a year ago when I was using Adobe Encore. All of my AVI files were upside down. I uninstall all of my codecs and that solved the problem. Try that first. Then if the starup video does not show up, uninstall GamEx againand then install ffdshow.

Have fun!
