BritInVA Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 What do folks do about gaming instructions on multi-system cabinets? I mean you cannot label every button because the functions change depending on the gaming system. I know MAME has control panel layouts - can you do similar with other systems?Or do folks put instructions on bezels? So what do you do?
Adultery Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 I use a cpanel image with the buttons showing that launches before the game starts for each emulator. Is that what you mean?
celly Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 You can use CPWizard to also make your own control panels to look like your actual control setup. It's a really neat utitlity.

Is that what you mean?Yes, that would be be good - is that what the 'Control Panel Path' option is in the Emulator settings? Do you have a single cp image per emulator or per game (or either?). Where does this show up? Is it like MAME where you get an option to view? You can use CPWizard to also make your own control panels to look like your actual control setup. It's a really neat utitlity.I shall take a look at this!
Adultery Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I just use one for the whole system and it pops up like the MAME CP does. Here's the thread if you wanna see what I mean.
BritInVA Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 Thanks - your controller images look slick - nice work.I'm currently learning CPWizard, assume I need to create a cp layput for each Emulator (so in my case currently MAME, Visual Pinbal, SNES & GBA).I think Visual Pinbal, SNES & GBA will be same for all games. But MAME will differ - right? When GameEx is integrated with CPWizard does CPWizard swap out button labels for Ctrl to thinngs like Jump depending on the game played?Really appreciate all this help!
BritInVA Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 When GameEx is integrated with CPWizard does CPWizard swap out button labels for Ctrl to thinngs like Jump depending on the game played?Figured this out - it does!Way Cool!
BritInVA Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 One question on CPWizard.I have customized to panel to same layout and button colors as mine........ what I've noticed is that when the button has a function in a game like Fire or Jump is changes the color of the button from what I've configured it. Any idea how I can keep it to the color I selected?
Adultery Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I wish I could help with this but I haven't integrated this into my cab yet.
BritInVA Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 Still not worked out if possible to keep the button colors the same as I've configured..... anyone? Also I created another panel layout for the Nintendo emulator and wanted to export that image but seems only export capability is to export an image for every MAME game. For now I took screen print but not as good quality as the exported versions.

headkaze Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Perfect!RESOLVEDSweet. Also updated CPW so you can export a single layout now.
Adultery Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 You can already get it here. Headkaze is the man like that.
BritInVA Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 Wow - he sure is the MAN!Assume you can install right over the top of older version without losing existing config?
BritInVA Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 Just installed 2.36 and works PERFECT!Thanks
