simbamame Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 hi guys, in my main gameEx menu ( mame ) im emulating playstations/zinc roms using zinc the only problem is it shows them as playstation in the mame list right down at the bottom of the list and i have to scroll down to it, is it possible to move it out of mame and have it in emulated games? im using the in built support instead of using zinc as stand alone.
Adultery Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 Not unless you actually nake ZiNc its own emulator which is a royal pain in the butt.
bkenobi Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 It's not really that hard. The main problem is that you have to send the emulator a number rather than a rom name. The easy way to do it is to change the rom file names to numbers. That way, you simply send the rom name to the emulator and everything works great! You will need to make a database with the correct naming, so that takes some effort. This emulator is a PITA is many ways, but I personally think it's worth the effort.
headkaze Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Check out ZincCab it allows you to launch via the command line using the number or ROM name.

celly Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Check out ZincCab it allows you to launch via the command line using the number or ROM name.Well in my haste to try ZincCab, as soon as I got it up and running in GameEx, I deleted previous versions of ZiNc I had installed. I figured the controls where easier to config with ZincCab. And I'm all the way back to square motha freakin 1 again. No dik codes are recognized in the emulator. It does, however run and load roms through GameEx. As an emulator.
