[ RESOLVED ]how do you know if file name is correct

guys,

Ive have some DC roms and use emumovies for the snaps,art and video files etc... the only problem is of the roms i have emumovies only has artwork and snaps/videos for only a few so my question is as roms have been renamed how do no what the correct file name is so i can match up png's that i get, as correct me if im wrong but doesnt the snap/ png name need to be the same as the rom name for gameex to display the right pic art etc...???

PS also the same for the Commodore Amiga can i just download png files and rename them to the same as the rom name? oviously with .png at the end.

OK Was adding the .png prefix to my artwork! "some times you just need to stand back and think about it logically" ( frequency )

On the emumovies site and in your GameEx folder is a program written by Tom that will do what you want automatically. It will even download all your media for you.

yes the download service utility but emumovies only has support for 3 of the roms, i have over 20.

Well for me, I actually go and get the artwork I want and rename them all by hand. I suppose that's not what you wanted to hear though...

Thanks Adultry, in fact i dont have a problem doing that and will quite happily but how do i know what to rename them as would i just rename as the rom is and will Gameex pick it up? does gameex build the list from the roms it finds in the rom directory

So long as your artwork name matches the ROM name and your paths are setup correctly and your snaps are in PNG and JPEG it will show.

Thanks i will try a few and give it a go but i thought snaps could only be in PNG format?

Nope, JPEG is supported too.

Most of mine are in JPEG, especially box art.

Thanks have tried without success, i renamed the snap exactly the same as the rom zip obviously with .png instead of .zip double checked it, double checked the paths in gameex and still no show
