[RESOLVED] volume in mame game

Hi all noobie here , i have loasded gameex and when i load a game and start to use the joystick i get the volume bar appearing at bottom of screen , this is so annoying as it only happens when i move joystick left , whilst this is on screen and i move joystick up it changes to britness then gamma , i have reconfigured the c ontrols but same thing happens , anybody any ideas how to stop this happening ?

all other aspects of the game work fine

i am useing an lcd screen for display , is that affecting it ?

any ideas bwould be welcome

You'll need to remap whatever your control is for volume in MAME. You can find it under the tab menu while running the mame game (any one) and selecting controls for all games. It's in other controls after all the player xx mappings.

Hi thanks for reply . i tryed remapping as you suggested but to no avail . i then uninstalled winpac as on this program the left joystick operation and the 1st button seemed to default to the same setting ? after i deleted this i remapped again , and it worked

so thanks for the advice it really did help

now just need to find some video snaps
