If I install it to a mapped network or unmapped it just gives me a werid error. Something about the process terminating. As well the configuration tool takes forever to load up and move through.

edit: I supposed i should put this is a common language runtime debugging services error with random numbers each time from process id and thread id.

Hi,

This is a common thing with .net apps as they offer higher security than standard executables. You need to configure GameEx as a trusted application for .net.

In control panel you should have some settings for .net framework, within those set GameEx as a trusted application. It should work then.

EDIT: Cant do much about the configuration tool at the moment. It has to deal with a lot of data. I may improve this later.

hey thanks for the quick reply. you got a really good program here. I enjoy it alot. I tried what you said about changing the trusts. ive tried enabling full lan trust, full application trust. ive set almost eveything i could think of to full trust on my p.c. it just seems whenever I

a. move the exe

or

b. install to a network drive

the application just will not start. otherwise it seems to run pretty well spare some long loading times which im hoping your 5.31 patch will fix. anyhow if its possible to fix this network problem that would make this program almost perfect for mine and im sure most peoples uses. P.S. have you ever considered making the database a mysql or some other type of database? there usually quite fast and easy to install.

I never tried changing the trusts myself, I was just told that works. So maybe its something that's not easily done. There is a command line option to specify a different config file which can be on a mapped network drive. Maybe that's what yourll need to do. I have considered using a database, but that would not affect speed of GameEx though. It could help with the config app speed, and make things a bit cleaner with how GameEx handles its lists though. My only concern with that though is the additional dependencie it would add, and possible additional support related problems.

Assuming you've registered GameEx and its configured well, startup speed should not be too bad.

I'll try that command line option you mentioned. Anyhow thanks for the help and hopefully future versions of GameEx will solve most of the network problems. P.S. No im not registered but I'm considering. I dont quite mind the nag screen.

edit: Not sure exactly what I did but with the security set correctly and if I map a shared drive on another computer open a command prompt and type gameex.exe it seems to start on the other computer.
