[RESOLVED] mame screensaver closes after 10 seconds or so

I am trying to figure out why GameEx no longer cycles through games when idle. I decided to try and just run the screensaver manually, and it starts up and loads a game, and plays it for a few seconds, and then the screen goes black and then back to the menu. I have it set to cycle through games every 2 minutes and to go into screen saver every 1 minute idle.

Thanks for any thoughts regarding this.

Unfortunately, a reboot has not fixed the issue. Also, I received the PC for my cabinet this week, and transferred over the configuration from the other machine where the problem originally showed itself, and it is still happening. Thanks for any ideas on what may be causing this.

Happy Holidays.

I wonder if a button is being hit somewhere?

I pondered that too, but I would think that would stop the screensaver instantly. Isn't there a settting to make it less sensitive to movements in screensaver mode? I seem to recall something like that.

Your comment got me thinking about what could be providing button pushes, as everything else seems to be working fine, but then I remembered that I was using GPWiz40's for my sticks to provide for rotary functionality, and that without running roto-x, the rotary aspect seems to be sending button commands, where I believe the roto-x software intercepts them and interprets them differently to the system, when activated. I hadn't configured Roto-x on my new box, nor started the service, but soon as I did, it appears to be stabilized. Thanks for the responses, I believe this is resolved.
