Well we know that Saturn (SSF) will not launch the games directly. You have to mount the game using a virtual device software like Deamontools or similar.

Secondly you are talking of ZIP files, Deamontools will not mount a ZIP directly it needs the archive decompressed.

So the workflow would consist of Gameex calling a program to unzip the archive, then have Dtools mount the archive, Then load the emulator and the game.

That is many steps.

I simply do not understand why people need to keep their PSX and other Disc based games in ZIP or ECM or other compressed format, it takes longer to load because it has to unzip first, it creates more trouble because there are more things that need to happen in sequence and in a timely matter. Hard drives are very cheap these days.

Anyways, you mention it does not happen outside Gameex. Yet Im guessing the disc is already mounted and you are launching the emulator.. Right?

But we are not testing all the sequences 1 at a time? Have you decompressed the archive to see if the error is there? Have you mounted it in Deamon tools by itself? Is there an Error?

The "C" error could be anything, there are so many involved steps. For all I know it could be anything from an incomplete error code talking about CRC or maybe even an issue with a "CUE" file. Or maybe some portion of what you are doing is coded in "C" language and there is an error in the application.

More info please.

Also please post your config for saturn.
