5.30 favorites bug?

Hi Tom,

I think something may be wrong with the new admin clear everything option. Installed 5.30, cleared everything and added a bunch of favorites again. I always do a soft reset so zone alarm registers GameEx. After doing all of this, I powered my cabinet off. Upon powering up and selecting favorites, all favorites have been lost.

Again, working fine for me. I think maybe your cab powered down before gameex got a chance to exit properly and save the games list.

i use gameex's launchonexit to trigger the shutdown sequence (with psshutdown) - you might want to try this is a safe (i think?) way of shutting down

After enabling the Exit GameEx feature, and re-starting GameEx, the favorites do stay. Before though, I could add a favorite and flip my cabinet power switch and they would still be there when I powered back on. I like that because I don't want people to exit to desktop.

The turn off system feature won't really work for me because although it'll turn off my PC, my cabinet stays on.

Is there a work around for this?

Not sure why it used to work, nothing has really changed that I think would make a difference. Emulator favorites do save immediatly, although MAME favorites have ever only saved when exiting/shutting down GameEx.

Can you post the log after a 'turn off' so I can see what's happening?
