Posted this on the emumovies forum, but hoped for a more timely response on this board.

I reinstalled everything last weekend and started playing with the emumovies downloader.

It works fine for me with NES, N64 and Super NES... but when I try MAME or Daphne, It bails on the file search and provides a pop up "first pass validation error"

I assume this is a nameing convention problem with my ROMs, but that is just a guess.

Anyone else see this behavior?

I think this might be because it finds a file or path that is way too long or maybe even a file too short.

Either way its probably finding a filename it does not like.

Is there any good way to audit my roms and figure out which ones may be remnants of an old install?

Theres probably quite a few ways but Im not sure its necessary for this. If its some kind of weird file causing the issue I would have thought youd be able to spot it in windows explorer.

I searched in explorer... just zip files and folders...even tried removing all CHDs...

I also tried moving my ROM folder to the root of the C drive.

I don't doubt there is something fouling up the works, but can't seem to find it.

Have you tried auditing the ROMs using clrMAMEpro? That might help?
