I'm using GameEx as a MAME arcade front end under Windows 7. I absolutely love this application; but if I choose a MAME game and let the game run for a period of time without activity, it takes a loooooooong time for GameEx to "activate" when I escape out of the MAME game. I'm able to escape from MAME, but then I see a black screen; after about 10 minutes or so, the system will come back to life and return to GameEx application; but this delay seems like a lifetime...

If the MAME game is only running for a short time, I have no problem "escaping" back to the GameEx application within milliseconds; but when a game runs (usually in demo mode) for a long time without activity, it takes forever to return the GameEx application.

Initially, I thought this was a power management issue, but all the "sleep" options (processor, hard drive, monitor, etc.) disabled.

If anyone could shed some light on this problem, I'd appreciate it. I'd also appreciate it if you could cc: me at JamesRIves@hotmail.com.

Thanks!

I have not seen this issue. What version of Gameex are you using? What is your screen resolution? Maybe a log file may help.

Newest version (I use auto updates). Just purchased it recently - and have kept it up to date.

It shouldn't take that long. GameEx should come back up in a few seconds worst case. Post a log for when this happens. Also, check to see that you don't have something going on in the background (disk scan, backup service, etc).

I leave mine on attract for days at a time and GameEx jumps right back for me too. You should post a log so we can have a lookie-look. :)
