Hi guys,

Been configuring my Daphne games, and have most of them running.

Problem is that in the Fighter flying games (ie Astron Belt, Galaxy Ranger), the up and dwon buttons are reversed. When I change the config in Daphne Loader so that the Up button is now down and vice versa, the game then plays fine in Daphne Loader.

So far, so good - but although I copy the command line again into GameEx, when I start the game back in GameEx the keys are reversed again. Even if I reverse them back in the Daphne config, they're still wrong (in other words, GameEx reverses them no matter what). I'm obviously missing a step - what is it??

Thanks

I used to change my keys by editing dainput.ini in your case just reverse the information in the 2 lines for up, and down.

There may be other ways to do this, and this may affect all games, I really can't remember. :)

the reason that daphne does that is on a joy stick(and real aircraft) pulling back and down are the same it pulls the aircraft up that is the reason that it was set that way

Thanks Tempest - yeah I changed them in the individual configs for each of the games (which I assume then changes the dainput.ini file) and they then work fine in the Daphne front end - but then they reverse again in the GameEx front end. I thought I must have been missing something in GameEx

Unfortunately, I no longer have Daphne set up, so I can't be much help. I can tell you that it is not a GameEx issue per se, It has something to do with your daphne setup, or the command line that you are using in GameEx. If you want to upload your dainput.ini, one of the individual cfgs from the game in question, and show the command that you are using, I'll look, but I have no way to test. Maybe somebody else will have an idea if you post the info.

Thanks - you've answered a big part of the question for me - that it's not something that I have setup in GameEx that's conflicting with the Daphne set-up. At least now I can narrow it down to going through the Daphne set-up.

Like I said, the part I don't get is that it's fine in Daphne when I reverse the settings, but still wrong in GameEx. I must have something wrong in my Command line - but hopefully someone else has had the same problem and knows a solution.

What are you using for controls in Daphne?

At this stage, a keyboard, and eventually an IPAC. So to move up/down at the moment, I'm using the up/down arrows.
