Can anyone tell me if it is at all possible to save high scores in mame32 so that when GameEx is shut down and turned off and then restarted your previous high score will still be there.

I'm not sure about this, but I think Hiscore saving isn't supported by MAME anymore. But there's always MAME32+ and such...

As far as I know the official MAME saves high scores. That's what the HISCORES.DAT file does, tells it where the high score data is so it can save it. I know it's something the dev team finds against the principles of the project, but the feature is there.

It may not work for all games though.
