What does GameEx do every 17 seconds?

I've recently setup an HTPC and last night I decided to install GameEx a go on it so I don't always have to fire up my arcade machine to play a few games.

I tested a couple of emulators and they worked fine but when I launch zsnes or project64 through GameEx every 17 seconds my games stutter for about 1 sec then carry on as normal.

Around the same time iMon LCD panel on the front of my case turns itself off and on again and I'll here the USB disconnected/connected sound.

It's as if GameEx is trying to connect to the iMon every 17 seconds but my iMon doesn't like it causing it to reboot which causes the games to stutter.

The iMon works perfectly fine until GameEx is running
