I have some questions:

1) I don't understand the new feature .X files. I think you can view 3D models like logos but I don't know how to get it working. I tried to see the GameEx logo created by ehuonder but I don't know how to rename and setup the folder. Can you explain me?

2) A suggestion for GameEx features can be the next;

Example: When you press G key in GameEx list games menu you go to the first G named game but if you press O you go to first "O" game, could be possible that when you press "G" + "O" keys you go to the first "GO" game ("Golden Axe" for example)? I hope you can understand me, my english isn't too good to explain that correctly.

3) I want to setup GameEx to exit games directly with the GamePad pressing "R3"+"Select" buttons. In Advanced Config exe I tried to create a ini with this combination on GamePad Exit section but when I press the buttons, GameEx open the gamelist but it doesn't close the emulator process and it is in background while GameEx is open. How can I close the emulator process by GamePad? Is it possible?

I hope you can help me.

Thanks.

2) Although you can't just type the game's name like you suggest, you can use the search feature to find all games that have "golden" in the name. It's not quite the same, but it will work.

Yes, the Search feature is very good but I think it is faster to write part of the game name in the list like Windows Explorer. I'd like to see this feature in future versions, it can be useful for people that use keyboard like me, but not for people that use a cabinet.

I think that's been requested before in the Features Request Thread. It's obviously not been implemented yet.

Yes suggestion must be in feature request, but I asked two questions more importants for me and I decided to include the suggestion like an extra comment here. I hope someone can help me with .X files or to make some info (tutorial) about how to setup them and to exit with GamePad (with emulator process close).

EDIT: I posted the suggestion again in "Feature Request" forum section, the correct place.

There's nothing wrong with asking about your ideas in a thread, but it will more than likely be lost if it's not also added to the features request thread. Tom definitely reads that thread, but may not review every message of every thread on the forum. Now it will be seen for sure!

Not sure about the other questions.

I'll try and help... For any LOGO that you would normally have in your <THEME>/media/logos, such as <THEME>/media/logos/media.png

you can create a directory with the logo's base name, such as <THEME>/media/logos/media/, and place the .X file in the new directory (it must have the same basename), such as <THEME>/media/logos/media.x

Any other texture files required by the .X file must also be in the new directory (the current GameEx logo I created does not have any texture files).

You do not need to remove the media.png file. Tom is giving precedence to the .X files (as of version 11.18 I believe).

If this is done properly, in GameEx when you move the selection cursor over the Media selection, the 3D model described in the .X file should rotate in the window that your theme normally displays logos in.

If you've downloaded the 7-zip file, you will need to extract it to the .X file and place it in the directory you make. There is no problem renaming the .X file, but if it calls any other files, you need to maintain the naming (text in .X file with filename).

Hope I didn't confuse you with too many details... Post if you still have problems.

Thanks for the info, I get it working :) I see Atari 2600 (Wii logo) rotating in menu.

I saw that is possible to convert google sketchup to .X files and to use them with GameEx. Do you know a web with free console models to convert them? I am searching it.

Thanks.

This was just posted by Tom. It's a plugin. May be of use.

The images under the emulators such as (box, title, etc) aren't showing in full screen if you click on them aka press enter. This use to work in prior versions. Can someone help me with this issue?

Sounds like this is related to a specific emulator. I suggest posting the config for the emulator.
