Recoil Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Topic says it all. First time posting since I have found just about all of the other answers to my questions on the board, but this one is sketchy and nothing is working. I have tried running the videos just with Gameex, and then with external player (windows media) and they will not run. Normally the run when gameex is not running, but I cannot figure out what the problem is. Does someone know of a step-by-step guide to getting videos to work correctly? Thanks
celly Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 What format are your movie files in? I opted to setup VLC player for my movies as an emulator since it plays most any format file I throw at it. Back to your problem, are the paths correct for GameEx to find the files?
Recoil Posted August 14, 2010 Author Posted August 14, 2010 Yes, the paths are correct, because I can see the entire movie play in the thumbnail preview. Once I select play this movie, it starts like it is going to play the automatically shuts down (I don't see any of the movie playing), then goes back to Gameex at the play this movie screen. They play fine in Windows media player, but not being launched through Gameex...which I think has something to do with the command line to play the movies. Any hint on the proper way to write the command line so I can try that?
Tom Speirs Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Can you post your gameex log (After reproducing the problem). It might show some info.
Recoil Posted August 17, 2010 Author Posted August 17, 2010 Sorry for the late reply. I looked at the log but it isn't showing anything...like I haven't done anything. The problem is with windows media player, media player classic, and divx. They all act like they are going to load up, the screen goes black like when it is loading up a rom file, then it just comes back to the screen to play the movie. This is the commands I am using between parens:(mpc-hc.exe "" /fullscreen /play /close). With and without brackets around VIDEO, with and without quotes. I cannot figure out if I am doing something wrong or if it's just my system.
Recoil Posted August 17, 2010 Author Posted August 17, 2010 I did want to point out that on the arcade dark theme I can get it to play the intro, and I can get it to do the previews for the games. I can also get the preview to play on the movies, but it plays the entire movie and I don't want that since it's not in full screen.
Recoil Posted August 17, 2010 Author Posted August 17, 2010 Sorry I can't read...I was forgetting the player's path. Other than tweaking the settings to open and close with fullscreen I am all set. Thanks thought
