Okay, I may have been able to accomplish fixing my issues with focus by using PsKill in the launch before to kill GameEx when the game starts. In truth, I think I like this better, no having to worry about trying to change or set up wrappers, and it isn't a dedicated game macine. So after exiting the game I prefer being at the desktop, not back in Gamex.

My next issue is one I was able to get working early last year on another machine, but am having a heck of a time figuring out what I am doing wrong in setting up a PC Games database in Access for GameEx. Nothing I do seems to make GameEx look at the database for description, names, genres, etc. Could someone who has a functioning PC Games database in GameEx tell my how you have it laid out in case I am missing something on this. Thanks

The PC games should be looked up the same way any other rom would be for any other emulator. In your PC game database, you need to have a file name specified in one of the 3 fields (Nointro, Goodnames, Tosec...I think that's what they are labeled anyway). Make sure that that name matches EXACTLY what the file name is without the extension. If it matches EXACTLY, it should work right away. To get it to display the database info, you shouldn't have to do anything (assuming GameEx finds a match). If you want the game to display a different name than the file name, you have another field in the database for the game's actual name. If you turn on the database name feature, it will rename the game in GameEx to whatever is in that field.

Well instead of using PC Database why not use a map file ([PC]Games.map) and name the PC Games the way you want. If not sure how to do it just move and rename one of the other map files changing it's extension from .map to .txt then edit it in notepad. When you save it just make sure you save it back with the .map extension. Here is an example of the contents of the map file:

BF2.lnk|Battlefield 2

ect..ect.. So the first file is your .lnk (or whatever the filename of the PC games you are trying to run) files and divided by the "|" then the second is what you want GameEx to display it as. Then enable/select your map file under your gameex config for that emulator (PC Games).

Hope this helps

Anyone see anything I did wrong that maybe I am missing? The descriptions, genres, don't show up on Age of Empires as that was the one I was testing before doing them all... Anyone have a working PC games database example they can show that works on showing the descriptions inside GameEx? Thanks for any and all input and help!

Hi, sorry for the delay. All I can see wrong is your using an older database template file. The recent one should have nointo and tosec columns. Maybe thats the problem. Also Id like to look into the PC games issue. Would you be able to test something for me?

Let me know.
