Hi all, I have a very strange problem with the Sega Genesis Database. I have named all my Genesis roms correctly to match the names in the database ( [Console] Sega Genesis ). No problems there. Upon scanning my games I noticed a strange error.

The first five games starting with the letter "G" (Gadget Twins / Gaiares / Galaxy Force II / General Chaos / Ghostbusters) are not linked with the entry in the database, (and I checked the correct ROM names)

The most strange thing is this: when I remove ANY of these five game ROM's (not the database entry), no matter which one, the remaining four are then suddenly linked correctly. As soon as I put the removed game back, the game info for all five games is blank again. ??????

All the other Genesis games are linked correctly, the problem only occurs with these five games.

I am stumped, and don't know how to solve this ( besides throwing one of these five games out, but there should be a better solution). Can anyone help me with this, or at least explain why this error is happening?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Arjen

No idea why this would happen. I'll do some testing when I get to my machine for you and maybe we can come up with a solution. Could very well be a bug.

Ok. Did some testing. Seems the database is incomplete and also incorrect as far as my roms are concerned so hard to do any testing past that. What rom naming convention are you using? Also did you verify a match in the database as far as those roms?

Hi fRequEnCy, thanks for helping. I use the GoodName naming convention, and they are correctly inserted into the database, otherwise they wouldn't show up if I delete one of these Roms.
