After uploading the most recent upgrade something has gone funny with the input into GameEx. I have an Ipac4 plugged in for a control panel as well as a keyboard for diagnostics. Both have worked fine for the past three years running GameEx. I've tested both outside of the frontend and inputs are all being received without fault. Assignments are all correct. When I fire up GameEx neither one creates response from the frontend. I have a custom config for the ipac and none of the inputs are responding (select, back, etc.) but they use the usual key presses (1, 2, etc.) Now here's the funny thing ... when I move the joystick left or right the navigation will go to the home and exit menus and back to the list, just like it always has. The escape key also works fine on both the ipac input and the keyboard. I opened up Mame and the keyboard and control panel with ipac4 work fine. So, it is definitely in GameEx.

So, I've gone through all of the advanced settings because it seems like I am missing something simple, but I cannot find it. I'm hoping there is another user out there who can help me out. This one has got me a little perplexed. I am, however, going to say that this is the first real "issue" i have ever encountered with GameEx, and I think that says a lot for the quality of this frontend after three years of useage. Great stuff!

This is a weird issue. Do you have any USB input devices, like gamepads. OR and XPADDER or JoytoKey services running that may be affecting input?

Other than that, you will notice a couple config files in your gameex directory. I cannot remember off hand thier names, however it could be Gameex.ini you will also notice a Gameex.default.ini. COPY your GAMEEX.ini or rename it. Then rename the Gameex.Defualt.ini to Gameex.ini

Then boot gameex, if it works then we can determine its a gameex setting.

Make backups before doing anything if you are unsure.

Thanks Brian!

I have a pair of gamepads, a flight stick, and a light gun plugged into usb. I thought about disabling them, but they seem to be set up fine. I may still try it if your file changes don't work. What worries me is that the default file doesn't seem to be referenced in the setup wizard when I move through the steps, so it seems to be seeing the correct file there. You seem to be suggesting that it is actually loading the other ini. I will update the post after I give it a shot tonight.

I unplugged the flight stick and now have full use of the control panel and keyboard. Thanks for your help, Brian!
