How can I make button 10 on my pad exit MAME games?

I cannot find how to make this, I want button10 on my pad to exit games... I have set up emus OK and they do exit with it, but mame no??! Where is the option for that?

You need to manually edit \config\custominput.ini with notepad. You will see the default gamepad exit combo there.

To add to what Tom said.

You can also launch a MAME GAME, Press TAB, Goto Imput Settings, Other Controls, Look for UICANCEL, Press Enter, Press Button 10, Then exit the menu by pressing TAB again.

This assumes you can control games in mame via your gamepad, so either -joy is added to the CL or the MAME.ini has joystick set to 1.

I am assuming this is the case, because your questions is not how to control mame games via your gamepad device.

Brian Hoffman , your easy solution worked wonderfully

I did try with the .ini editind TSpeirs suggested, but it did not work all the time... I am using a win7/pro setup with a wireless Xbox360 controller!
